The New Economic System scares me... Before a player with less planets could win by skill, if he could force the other player to waste/lose enough of his resources to balance it out, eventually the terms become equal as resources run out. Now its infinite. Now there is no chance of that, and it makes come-backs harder not easier IMO, because the player with a lead in planets/mines is going to become more powerful at a much quicker rate than it used to. Can't we make this an opt

Unlike eating babies, that is modest. Your satire isn't strong enough, you should maybe add that the Vasari should have shield regen depots. Or you didn't even mean it as satire, in which case I'd have to admit some of those ideas are certainly interesting... the TEC debris field for example..
Okay: So I want to give my take in one place, where it won't be immediately drowned out by the volume fo response. To avoid some problems I'll post some basic points that I DONT want or care to talk about. 1. This is not AT ALL about the Vasari being over or under powered. 2. I believe virtually everyone realizes the Vasari are too weak in the early game, and that they are too tech dependent, That is also NOT an issue I want to discuss. 3. I'm going to try and avoid t
Here is my conlcusion about the Vasari- Its clear now that the Devs don't want to produce the unique and varied model for balance, thats fine, its a rarity, I think it is vastly superior to what they are doing, but its fine, most games don't do it, and I don't expect the extra (more like Gigantic) effort from a new and small company. So, fine, no true nomadic race, I even don't care too too much about making the ships more powerful... But what would make them feel muc
Schod. Just because you think you are right does not neccessarily equate to you Being right. I agree with you that allot of people who say under/over powered just need to play it out and think more. But your constant barrages of 'I'm right' 'Read This' are about as useful as cat litter. The Vasari are too similar for those of us who want a balance system based on uniqueness, IE Warcraft III and StarCraft models. Sins races at the moment use the same method for building, explori
I like the tri-hexagon thingy... in red. Or the circle with Wings in blue
Yup, me too. Didn't crash the game though!
Schod, it looks backwards, but more importantly it doesn't look like it matches the other ships profile wise. The style is right, its just that most Vasari ships widen towards the back ... not thin. At any rate: Uhm, the Phase Gate reinforcement ability ended up putting me at -300 fleet supply and then never generated another ship???? If they continue to generate ships they should obey Rally points... and I now need a way to tell ALL Rally Points to go to ONE place, at Once.<br
The Vasari Units, are very similar ROLE WISE, but that is usually the most important difference in how a fleet/army will function. So their fleets act the same way as the TEC, IE I am still building lots of Light Frigates, Missile Frigates, and not bothering with the Flak Frigates too often. What makes the Vasari different is there overall tech, their econ disadvantage, and their Supreme Mobility. As well as convenient repair systems. Overall I'm happy. I'm also agreeing with Schod here
Uhmmm... Is it just Me or is the Subverter Vasari Ship flying backwards? The large fat end, with a big round engine port is at the head of the ship, and the smaller and downward pointing tail with windows is in the back. The model should be flipped?
I have to say... Boo. There I said it. I like the new model, but it doesn't feel like the TEC what-so-Ever. Now I realize its the first new ship, but I thought the Kol did that in Spades! The problem with the old Kol: The hangar direction was overlapped by the front of the ship, looked silly. The New Kol, has this but the hangar launcher is diagonal, which avoids the issue... but now a big hulking 3 gun is in the way! In addition the weird bottom cann
Arsenal, a small RTS of Canadian design... lets see, what the heck was it called... something with a D, ... it specifically had an option to set the resources to infinite. It was in regards to a war between post apocalyptic factions inside the domed city that they inhabited. Well at any rate, Dawn of War also is infinite, based off of control points in the map it feeds you at a certain rate. Not to mention Star Craft could be set to inifinite resources. And there is technicall
The Vasari are running from something related to how their empire was formed, they were more or less conquerers and enslavers, and the game is called 'Sins' of a Solar Empire, they are easily the empire in mind IMO, and thus their sins are being punished by the mysterious insanity/blackout wave. It could be that they enslaved a poor pathetic minor race that was under the protection of a god-like being, who is striking out in vengeance angainst the Vasari, relentlessly, and simply drivin
SHIT @@##$^@#T*&@*(!#*() #!*(# So yeah I can't do Wednesday, I gotta drive the GF to a different city that night now. Can we shift over to Thursday? Man I was so getting into this one too.
Well its not the only game with the infinte build or resources, but they were the only good or memorable ones lol! I think you are all correct in estimating the key issue regarding expansion. I think in the future the culture system is supposed to be used to bypass the choke points and act as a catalyst for combat, forcing people to attack before they are overun by shopping malls. The problem is currently the culture system isn't really finished (I think?) Some greater
Ilike that, i've done board game versions of it with Twilight Imperium. Always fun, even with alliances. Just have a big ticking clock lol! Who gets left behind! I would have 3 systems each for 3 players. and one big star as the 'safe' zone... where there would be 1 player for you 10 player game nuts. The 1 player would have an advantage in immediate territory, but he is going to be attacked by 9 people eventually!! Unless he is lucky and they whittle themselves down e
that sounds like a cunning ploy to put me at ease! I shall dine on your liver come thursday morning!
Deal- itll be fun, but lets keep it at 2v2. Any more and it gets harder to ensure stabillity, not to mention organization... and its a weekday, i simply don't have forever like a weekend to play those 10 person matches lol. Oh and Multi- no big deal but oh my gosh, leave out the 03 lol! I just cant get rid of it. Sigh whoever took the name 'Gauntlet' and never used it will pay someday, somehow!
I want to partner up with Hal and see what he does, and if needed give him a few pointers. I may or may not have to kick your ass to do so lol!
Okay well then lets say 6 to 6:30 Eastern on Wednesday. If me Hal and Pardoxnt all make it that will be fun, I'm sure there will be a straggler we can pick up for a fourth. And just so there is no confusion: Hal is on my Team !
Yes Please call us dumb people, considering that your esteem is so low that you must capitalize your font and make it huge just to be listened to I'm sure calling us dumb will make us believe your pearls of wisdom. Your insulting, therefore i'll have no problem insulting you in the future. Is that really how you want to spend your time on this forum? Learn some manners.
Well Shadowhal I have east coast afternoons free as of wednesday... 6pm eastern... I know that is probablly a bad time for you, but if you want to get a game in...
pppffft who cares about Mounty's anyways (lol)
Perhaps we should open 2 threads (and get them stickied!) one for weekend planning and another for Weekday
its Unfair its just not neccesarily disadvantageous. There is a difference, allbeit Very Very slight. It really doesn't matter, the Scenarios ive played so far play just fine. Not to mention I don't think scenarios need neccessarily be 'Fair' you dont like it, dont play it
