Someone once told me that racism is an adult disease. Unfortunately it is spread through our children. You have taken a stand against infecting Xavier and Orian. I commend you! P.S. My 4th graders at school are a melting pot as well, and I wouldn't want it any other way! Great Article!

Or pray that the situation gets better Msladydeath, Thanks for sharing your experience with me. I appreciate the suggestions, and I will definitely be praying for both my friend and her neices. I'm sorry about your situation with your husband. That must have been devastating.

I want to apologize Bruce, No apologies neccesary. I've really been trying hard not to dwell on it, but I would appreciate your prayers. Thank you for the encouragement, and for reminding me I am loved! <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quote

Brandie, Thank you for the encouragement. I appreciate your empathy and well-wishes. I too hope this will blow over soon. As far as the hypothetical situation goes, I am no longer sure what would happen to the girls. To my knowledge, she does not have a living will, and up until this point in time, she has expressed that she would want me to raise them. Of course now she no longer trust my judgement, so perhaps it will be her

Perhaps a short history will help me see the situation more clearly: My college roomate becomes my best friend. Her 14 year old sister has two babies before she gets her driver's license. As a full time college student, I agree to live with my best friend and her infant and toddler neices after they are removed from their mothe

Have you seen the movie Diary of a Mad Black Woman? No, I've been wondering about it...it's good? It's become one of my favorite summer movies. You definitly have to rent it, and soon.

My main page showed zero comments. Sorry for the delayed response Trin - I'm glad to know you think of me. Having you as a sister makes me the luckiest! Bruce - You truly are wonderful Gideon - I appreciate your kind words. My grandma is pretty wonderful. I'm glad you are getting to know her, and I hope you home in Lefors is a gentle one!

Trin, I've missed reading blogs like these. They remind me of how beautiful your heart is and why I wish you were in Texas. This Chad guy isn't your new Dan is he? (Should I write that on Joeuser?) I look forward to hearing from you soon. I love my little sister!

*** I actually wrote this blog over two weeks ago. Posting was delayed due to major life changes. I drank from my very own water hose tonight. It was a monumental occasion. You see, I bought my first home today. It’s one of those cookie cutter houses everyone seems to be buying, but I don’t really care. I like it. I would attempt to describe it on h

I come from a long line of history nerds. I can remember my grandma reading my social studies textbooks from cover to cover evey year when I would bring them home to do homework. We often engaged in political conversations in which we would solve the problems of the world with simple minded ideals. She taught me the value of examining the past, and I am grateful for t

Brandie, I was home for the 4th of July, and things in Lefors haven't changed much. This was a reunion year, but not many folks our age were in town. Jen and I strolled down memory lane, and it was nice to catch up. I am so glad to hear you had an enjoyable Independence day. You were missed! P.S. Thanks for the birthday card! It was so thoughtful of you!

Brandie, Coming to terms with who we percieve ourselves to be can be unbearably painful. I have often asked God to help me see myself as He sees me, but I continue to struggle with feelings of unworthiness. When I think of the beauty and grace you possess, I cannot for the life of me figure out why you "feel" so unacceptable, but I often do the very same thing. The wounds you have suffered are beyond understanding. Rejection and abandoment a

I'm impressed that you know where you stand on the issues. It takes a strong individual to research both sides and make an educated decision about what is right and wrong. Nice blog.

But the operative word in your post is "choose." Bruce, I'm a firm believer in the power of choice. It's so easy to spiral into a pit of helplessness, especially when Satan wants nothing more than to make me ineffective. It really is a shame that I still feel unacceptable, but I have to bel

You get on my nerves......often......just so you know The feelings are mutual. Nothing in particular brought on this blog. Just some goofy feelings I needed to release. Love you Trin.

Brandie, I'm lovin' the pink dress, but I think you ought to wear white. I am so thrilled for both of you, and although I won't be your maid of honor during this ceremony, I count it a blessing to know your precious family. I hope your day PERFECT! Be sure and post some pics.
