Another point, the repair option wont be available in setup if SP2 is intalled. I'll bet it will be if you've created a slipstreamed SP2 disc. <img src="http://images.

Well, you an use visualizations in full screen mode, but that's not exactly a screen saver.
I use widgets consistently, but prefer XP for my overall "theme."
I understand the problem, but I think the solution does nothing to solve it. People who get pirated copies will always have a way to crack the activation process. So the only people inconvenienced by it are the honest customers. Exactly. It's trivial find a copy of WXP that doesn't require activation.
I hate the QuickTime interface. If I want to play a QT file, I use Zoom Player (WMP will also play them). Only on the rare occasion that I find a QT file that won't play on a more universal and user-friendly media player do I load up that crappy interface. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/icons/wc.gi
Anybody use G-Force (SoundSpectrum.com)? Their beta has now been released and it comes with the best screensaver I've ever seen! I see plugins for media players, but no screen saver. In fact, I installed it, and there was no option for a screen saver, nor did it install one. Maybe the Gold version ha
The "reallyslick" screensavers are pretty cool as well. Make sure you download the latest release where you get all of them in one zip file. I tried out several new screen savers tonight, and this package was the only thing that really stood out. Skyrocket is really, really cool! I've b
horiz0n, I know what you mean. When I was looking at LCDs, all the best affordable ones are 1280x1024. I would have actually went smaller for 1024x768 before I would have bought a 1280x1024 monitor. I hate that resolution. Fortunately, I was blessed with a sweet deal for a brand new Planar 20" 1600x1200 LCD, and I couldn't be happier. <B
I believe this is new streaming technology. It's very impressive, at least when using High . It starts up almost immediately, and delivers a very good full-screen picture with no hiccups.
Strange but true that you learn something new here every day?
I have a simple request: Allow me to drag and select the text that I want, instead of assuming what I want.
Based on my experience, yes. YMMV. Of course, only if you have USB2 port. I would imagine USB1 would be way too slow.
Thanks for the links, WebGizmos. That Bugs one looks pretty cool (judging from the screenshot).
Maxim is good, too.
Update: I went back to my hard drive based page file. Despite being on its own partition, on a separate physical drive from my OS and all my programs, it's significantly slower than my flash drive was. It was immediately noticeable. IMO, my experiment showed that a flash drive makes for an excellent page file drive. I've heard of people using a RAM drive for that purpose, but this is easier, and doesn't take up any of your RA
I wish I'd have seen it too, WebGizmos. I love aquarium screen savers. I have several, but keep going back to SereneScreen. Jim Sachs is an artist.
Werewolf, on a normal 4:3 screen, the resolution is evenly divisible by 640x480 (and 320x240 before it). 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x960 and 1600x1200 all maintain the same aspect ratio, with no adjustments. However, to fit 1280x1024 on that same screen, you have to elongate the pixels. Or to put it another way, go into any image program and tell it to resize an image while keeping the same aspect ratio. You'll see if you try to resize any of t
I like indecent stuff.
Hey, I'm hyped for War of the Worlds already!
SereneScreen's parent company sells a goldfish screen saver that's pretty good, but I don't see any blue gravel, at least not from their screenshots.
I have a quarter, Fuzzy.
Hey, it only says 99,948 downloads here. Link
You guys need to get a real resolution with square pixels.
LMAO! I just discovered this page: Link Hilarious! Here's another couple good links: Link Link
Very well stated, lilstarfish! What fascinates me about that is not that I think it's legit (though I don't believe we're alone in the universe), but that it seems so real, and I wonder how it was done. There doesn't seem to be any record of it on KTNV's website, so I'm wondering if it's a leaked teaser for "War of the Worlds." If that's the case, it would simply be some CGI. However, if KTNV was not in on it, it's a little more dif
