OOps...sorry Thrull. The images you're looking for are in the "/Galactic Civililizations/Setup" folder... racesetup_image0.pcx (drengin) racesetup_image1.pcx (altarian) racesetup_image2.pcx (arcean) racesetup_image3.pcx (torian) racesetup_image4.pcx (yor) I think this'll do the trick ;)

They're not numbered, but you can change the GFX on the alien startup screen by altering these images... race_drengin.pcx (race 01) race_altarian.pcx (race 02) race_acrean.pcx (race 03) race_torian.pcx (race 04) race_yor.pcx (race 05) Ths should help with the "total conversion mod" idea you were talking about! :CONGRAT:
Right now games can only be submitted once. After that, all incoming scores from the same game are ignored. This has been brought up several times, but I personally prefer this meathod (makes you think twice before blindly clicking that submit button). Any thoughts on a different approach are welcome :)
Could you post your debug.err file here? (../Galactic Civilizations/debug.err) I havn't heard of this problem, but hopefully someone else has overcome the issue and can help us out. ;)
That is an odd one. We'll keep this one at the top of the forum for anyone that has any sugestions.
Governors are more of an pre-assigned build queue. They'll build things in order of how you assigned them (or, for generic', in the order they are researched), but they'll never build their own lists (Brad stated elsewhere why he disagrees with giving AI to the planetary governors). If you're problem is with your generic governor list running out of things to build, you have 2 options. 1. Transfer funds from Social Production to Research or Military (DOmestic Economics screen)
I beleive this will be adressed in the 1.03 patch.
Sorry. 110 = "Trade", meening your merchants will be a BC bonus when negotiating a trade route. 126 = "Government" allowing you to have more persuasive power over your senate ("harder to lose control"). I'm happy to post this info. Any suggestions on what I should document next? :)
Interesting...I suppose that is rather cheezy. We'll probably end up changing that for the next patch. :notsure:
// ******************************************** // CREATING YOUR OWN RANDOM EVENTS // ******************************************** Originally created to be as edit-friendly as possible, the Random Event files can be daunting to someone that wants to create their own. There’re a lot of numbers, with not a lot of feedback as to what those numbers actually do. What I’ll try and do today is step through the EVENT file type and explain each field as painlessly as possible.
No, but keep in mind that anything you put into the game the AI will likely take advantage of as well. ;) ~SDC~
Oh, you meen on the thread itself!!! I was checking to see if there was indeed an icon to show wether a post was from stardock, but I misread your suggestion. While it would be useful for people looking for official answers, we dont want to clutter up that main forum page with too many absract icons (so we dont overwhelm new visitors). Just my opinion though. You can add this one to your list of "not-interesting Stardock posts" ;)
What I do is have a governor for different types of colonies, grouped into the following categories: 1-low quality planets that I want to terraform ino a better planet (soil enhancing projects take priority) 2-ok quality planets that I want as an economic outpost (for colonies wihtin my empire) 3-ok quality planets I want as military outposts (at the edge of my empire). Priortize ship boosting and population growth (so I can fill transports quickly). 4-ok quality planets th
We found that most machines running WinME or 9x were likely to experience problems with the full-screen movies. Alot of times updating your video drivers will do the trick, but 600mhz is really the cut-off point for seamless cutscenes :( Sorry.
I'f anyone has a game where they can get enemy ships stopped in a sector, please send it to us. This is a pretty huge cheese tactic if it's possible, but as popup said, ships should never be stopped, simly slowed to no less than 1 move per turn.
:notsure: That's a biggy. I'll spend some time today with a tutorial on making your own events.
'Fraid not, Seth :( My best suggestion would be to save the game 1 turn before you beat it and load that game on your slow computer just to upload the score. Sorry there's not an easier way, but storing scores to be uploaded on another computer brings up some serious "score tampering" issues.
DOn't worry about early games showing up as wins. One of the early patches changed the way we submit wins and losses (so now you can actually see how the player won/lost) It shouldn't effect your overall score. ~SDC~
Can you send your GalCiv/debug.err file to both [email protected] and [email protected]. Hopefully it'll contain some info as to where things are going wrong. Thanks! :)
THey're pretty random...in fact, many people have commented that they may be TOO random. Player's have started games where the first issue was a perminant ban on "Terror Stars", years before they had come into existance. We'll be putting in some exception handling for instances like this, but in your situation, it was simply luck that brought up the issue ;)
If you're still having problems after trying the suggestions above, send out an email to [email protected]'d have some more insight to your problems :( I wish I knew more, but once you get SDCentral working its difficult to go back and help people with initalizing the program.
OK, so I was curious too, so i just looked into it. It's supposed to toggle between showing all the trade routes that you're associated with, and just the routes that you initiated. Right now it's not working (obviously), but we'll put that on our list for the next patch. Thanks for catching that one, olaf ;) Much appreciated. ~SDC~
