If this is reproducable, can you send the saved game to [email protected]? Definatly a weird one Thanks KiRon!

Yeah, we're looking into those Thanks for the post though...the little polish points can easilly get overwhelmed by the larger issues, but they all need to be addressed
Core Ship designs can't be upgraded at this point, only user designs can be. This is as we intended (since some core ships get custom bonuses) but will be adding a new feature in a future update (a "Duplicate" button or something) that will let you update any designs by removing all the components and leaving the hull and jewelry.
The update hasn't been posted yet, but yes, the bug you list has most likely been fixed. All ships can move 1 tile per turn by default, so no engines are needed.
Hmm...we'll add this to our bug list. Thanks Blizzard!
Can you try updating your drivers. Looks like they're from early last year. Let us know if this helps or if the problems continue
Keep in mind that only people that ordered directly from Stardock have the ability to download directly. Everyone else has to wait for their boxed copy to be sent to them (from amazon, ebgames and the like), so I think Ano's problem lies there...that the retail service used hasn't been prompt. We're still trying to figure out what happened there (Best Buy has the game, where other retailers are still waiting) but as we learn more we'll try and keep you all posted. More info on
We're trying to figure out what happened and come up with the proper way to deal with the problem. Sorry for all the hassles
We tried to tie the AI in to use them, but it was just going to take too long to hook a good AI up to the game mechanic (they were put in to galciv1, but never hooked up to the AI, which made for some MAJOR cheese). When we re-implement them, there are 3 important aspects we need to get perfected.... 1.) AI needs to properly build them 2.) AI needs to properly defend theirs, and properly calculate the threat of others 3.) The Terror Star will still destroy entire systems.
We had a guy who downloaded everything over a 56k modem (took 10 hours, but it got there eventually). We're shipping the boxes out as fast as we can, but the office really isn't set up for massive orders (read: like what we're getting with GC2). A big load went out yesterday, a even larger load jsut got picked up, and we'll be sending out another large shipment by the end of the day. So, long story short: they'll be arriving in a few days, but in the meentime dial-up downl
We're all pretty busy on the forums, tweaking bugs, packing and sending out orders (how I spent my morning), so I'm not sure when Brad will find time to wrap that up...unfortunatly you'll probably have the game by the time part 3 goes up (though this is probably a good thing)
We're anxiously waiting as well...there's 1 review out there (http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrankings/launchreview.asp?reviewid=667216) and we fear he actually reviewed the gamma. He did give the uncomplete version of the game a 90% though, to that has to be good...or something
I found a few copies at Best Buy if that helps I don't why some stores would have it and others not, but I assure you, once the gold copy is sent out it's really out of our hands. We'll keep you all up-to-date with any information we hear from the manufacturing/distributing side of things (like Brad did with this thread). Your paticence is very much appreciated <img src="http://images.stard
We really need to take that option out black UI = no good.
IIRC, there's a crude cheat put in that allows you to switch what race you're playing as, so TECHNICIALLY you may be able to pull off a HotSeat PBEM weird hybrid...though diplomacy would still be done with the AI, and I don't know how enjoyable it'd be, but it may be worth a go if all the players are willing I'll try to dig that cheat up if you're interested.
The .sav file is all that you should need to do this sort of thing. It will store all the data files, ship configs, ect ect ect that you'll need for everyone to be playing the same game (which is nice, but it will be a big file ). However, as more jewelry is added via updates or online libraries, make sure all the players have the components, otherwise you may get crashes when trying to make ships
Hey gang, To clear up any confusion, the original post above said that there would be some new hulls in the Collectors Edition. The hulls are actually in the Bonus Pack , which everyone that downloaded the game should already have. The real meat of the Collectors Edition comes from over a dozen new peices of jewelry to use when designing your ships Hope this all makes sense <img
Being a game developer at stardock since the GalCiv1 days, I never actually felt fully comfortable in the series until I played through the campaign. It may sound silly, but I would easilly get overwhelmed trying to balance and organize my empire, and would end up getting trounced at some point (I'm a console gamer at heart...used to more button mashing and less thinking). By going into the game and having simple, direct objectives to accomplish, it helps you i
Hey Ash, Could you send this saved game to [email protected]? Never saw this, but anything is possible in code-land Thanks man!
Thank for the well written review, burianek! All of us at Stardock have enjoyed the game for a while, but were obviously nervous that the gameing community may not have the same tastes as us, or that little bugs would pop up and spoil the experience (which happend for some players, but hopefully our next patch can fix that!) Thanks again for the kind words!
The baseball one at the end is actually supposed to be the "Neo-Australia" logo Perhaps I should flip it? There are also two in there that were inspired by the Rebel Alliance and the Empire logos from the SW universe, but if you want the real thing, you're more than welcome to use them in your game (we'd get busted by Lucas if we tried to ship with them) <img src="http://images.stardock.co
Just wait till you get into a gigantic galaxy in late game...you dont even tough ships at that point, you just place rally points and manage them in governors. Saved a few of of us from an early death by frustration glad they're working well for ya!
Starbases will only up the attack might of ships in it's vacinity. With a few overlapping beefed up Military Bases, you can put some scouts in orbit and still be able to properly defend your planets
Tomorrow we're going to compose the final list and post it for you guys...it's pretty long now, and has to be prioritized. This specific item will probably make it into 3-4 updates from now...there are bigger bugs to fry ATM.
