Soon there will be a Ship Design library up here that should help you in this area. Basicially players will be able to upload their designs for other players to use, so you can pick and chose the designs that most matches your 'season', and use them in-game.

Got it to reproduce! Thanks Misfire, excellent bug hunting We'll have this fixed for the next update.
1.) Well, i guess DesktopX isn't the problem (its the ObjectDesktop program we used to make the popup). I'm really not sure why this would run on startup We'll look into it though. 3.) Sorry, my brain was in 3dMax mode (where holding the middle mouse button can scroll the map around). Try using t
Hey Blizzard, 1.) Not sure...will have to ask about this. DO you have DesktopX installed by any chance? 2.) There are pre-set angles using the 1 2 3 4 and 5 buttons, you will have to use those until hot-keys are implemented for rotating the main-map 3.) We'll look into hotkeys for scrolling when playing with #2. Have you tweaked the scrolling speed? We all have middle mouse buttons, which i
Hey Ender, Yes, it is annoying (it seems like no matter how stable it is in the office it'll be buggy on some pwercentage of machines) and yes, us developers would love to get our hands on that save game If you could send it to [email protected], along with the debug.err file from your root's "programfiles/stardock/totalgaming/galciv2" directory, that'd be great! Thanks for your pat
mavx: yes, the espionage thing was also added...thanks mario: you can move some of the content into a folder (jewelry, hulls, icons) but alot of the data is built into the core folders, so moving it may be a PITA sorry man
Yeah, the only problem with the digital download is that you guys never actually got to play 1.0, so the bonus pack dosent really stick out. New Features and Content Include... -Buttons on the Negotiations Window to cycle through other Aliens to Trade with -New Jewelry for Ship Designs (12 New Peices IIRC) -A new large hull for the Humans, ALtarians and Yor -New Maps and Scenerios -15 New player Logos to choose from -You can now type in the $$ you want to trade with
I'm so glad you guys are finally getting to use that tool...the ship building blew me away (as a gamer) when the programmers got it working. Cant wait to see everyones creations!
Always appreciative for feedback (mostly constructive)...we're so close to the process that we forget how it feels to a new user. I'll pass on your suggestions to the SDCentral and Totalgaming crew and see what can be streamlined! Thanks, and hope you enjoy the game
Can you post the info from your debug.err file (found in c:\program files\stardock\totalgaming\galciv2\). Lets see what the last action the game is trying to perform.
Thanks brother. Yeah, there are alot of people with issues, with hopefully the servers will speed up soon, and everyone will have a smooth ride
The music was done by Mason Fisher, who was a true professional through the whole process. He's also teaming up with us for Society, so I can't wait to hear what he comes up with for that. Oh, and some of the GalCiv1 music is in the game, but it should randomly pick from a whole slew of music, most of it new.
You can't completely adqust the spending on a per-planet level, but you CAN set the focus of individual planets with the little "bullseye" buttons in the Colony Management window.
The more info the better System specs, OS, what were you doing when you AltTabbed? Are you alt-tabbing or clicking on a secondary monitor (which is handled differently internally than the alt-tab). We put alot of work into keeping it stable moving in and out of the game, so this is definatly a bug of convern. Thanks!
Hmm....we tried to make sure that hardpoints always had a mirrored version on the other side. What ships dont you get this with? Oh, and we're glad you're enjoying the game
We played with #1 in the betas, but since you could have situations where you are looking directly at the horizion-line, it'd SERIOUSLY kill framerate in late game, so we took it out. It'd take a bit of coding to do it correctly (aka without the fps killing)
The servers are getting hit pretty hard right now, so you may want to hold off...I'm in the stardock offices and I'm only getting 2-5 kb per second...but I've also heard of players getting 100kb plus, so it all seems to all come down to luck today Tomorrow will be alot less painful, however.
Unfortunatly we did discover a really odd bug when ships are designed with too many of the same part in a certain order. This will be fixed in one of (if not the first) update. Sorry steeveo
We've just sent you a copy of your serial number for GC2 to your email address. Take the serial number, go into your c:\stardock\totalgaming\galciv2 folder (of wherever it was installed), and locate a file called "sig.bin". Delete this file, and run GalCiv2.exe. You'll be prompted to activate your copy...do this by entering your email address and the game's serial number. Hope this gets the game running for you! If not, contact s
My coworker Paul (Mormegil on these forums) got a new Dell with a 24inch LCD and DAMN, that thing was awesome. And while you're officially on my list of people to be jealous of, I think you'll really enjoy the work put into the "Multi-Resolution" feature of the GC2 engine...it really shines on these larger displays. Have fun ( you lucky bastard )!
Yeah, trying to get the whole thing the day of release is going to be alot more difficult than any other day, simply due to the number of people accessing the servers. You can change the server you're trying to pull from in "Tools>Settings>Internet" then switch between the Chicago and California servers, which may help your situation, but after this initial rush of downloading is done, connection times should increase significantly. Hope this helps. <img src="http://images.stardock.co
hehe Thanks guys...glad to hear that everything's working well (for the time being, at least)
All the servers are working at max capacity ATM (witheveryone downloading and checking the forums for updates), so if you see some weirdness on the pages, or hiccups in the download, that's why
Also, you jump onto #galciv in the stardock chat room (in Stardock Central, clickon "Chat" on the left column, then click the "Connect" button, then type '/join #galciv'). You can then talk to the developers in real-time.
3pm was really a "At the very latest", just to make sre the kinks were worked out and everything was tested. Anyways, enjoy the game!
