Technically, once the gameplay and engine are up and running, Art assets can be added up until the last minute, so players won't be seeing the final art until the game ships (or the day we release 1.0 on SDC). There are alot of ship gfx, battle animations, cutscenes, planet images, ect that either 1.) on our To-Do list, or 2.) Done, but won't be released to the public until 1.0 That said, what, from a graphical perspective, do you guys feel is missing from the game.

Hmm...upon further inspection, it looks like the middle mouse button seems to perform the feature youve requested! You can tell how often I use the minimap

Unfortuntaly that would require a major overhaul in the MiniMap system Which, at this point, there's not time for However, perhaps we can do something to ease your pain...we'll chat about it and get back to you

Thanks for the feedback, pmuscles! It's always nice to see GalCiv1 players chiming in on how the sequel is coming. Oh, and be sure to update to 4d...I beleive it resolves some of these issues - and most likely introduces some new ones ** Major Bugs ** 1.) Noted. 2.) Yeah, right clicking will work, though if we have time we'll work up a system that auto-deletes t

Look on your planets for Yellow, Orange, and Red Squares. These are upgradable tiles that you can use these technologies on. We're currently working on making more upgradable tiles, but you should still be seeing some in the current beta.

Popup: We'll be making a crap-load of these types of designs for the AI (opposed to putting in logic for making cool designs), so I don't see any reason that we couldn't make those accessable to the planet, or have you just press a "Randomize" button that pulls one of these designs up. Depends on time, i suppose. P.Pheonix: Yeah, there are a few that kinda do this, but we'll be making very small ones that won'd be more than a nub. RIght now any items that reorient your pei

Smaller Dots: Should be no problem...perhaps we can even make this a slider option. Re-Orienting Components: This...is a toughy. Don't get me wrong, it's be AWESOME, but it would take alot of time and require a major overhaul in the ship design format, so I don;t think it'll make it in Sorry. HOWEVER, what we CAN do, is make some small "Reorientation" structures that take a hartpoint that points 'left' and make

We're tweaking the number of upgradable tiles planets will receive. Terraforming will be much more important/powerful in the next few betas.

1, 2, and 3) We'll be using mouse-over text to explain some of these things. Like now, you can roll-over your morale values in the planet screen to see why your citizens feel the way they do. Or, on the foreign relations report, you get a run-down of why they like or dislike you. More will be added over time. 4.) These have some tweaking to be done. 4.4) Anomalies will randomly regenerate in the final game...this just hasn't been put in yet. 5) You'll end u

1.) I beleive this is a problem with old '.raceconfig' files staying in your directory. Go to your 'galciv2/data' directory and delete all files of this type. Unfortunatly, this WILL delete any custom races you've made, but will force the game to read in the race data properly. 2.) Thats my fault...when I implemented the text parsing I used an incorrect variable in the code It should be easy to fix, though <i

1.) I like this one alot. We'll try and squeeze it in 2.) This was discussed when we first decided to take the leap from suns to solar systems on the map, and we decided that it'd be a case of realism being less fun...imagine playing a game on a gigantic map where the map visually never stayed the same. It'd get confusing pretty fast...plus if there was a ship where a planet should move, where would the ship go?

Hey John, Glad to hear you're enjoying it thus far. As for your bugs... 1.) Yeah, this one will be a problem until we're feature complete. As features get added they tend to break the alt-tab stability. 2.) We're stomping these out as we find them. 3.) This is on our list and should be fixed for the next beta. 4.) This...is definatly a weird one. Next time you get this could you email us a screenshot of what's going on. I've never seen or heard of this happ
