Autolaunch seems to be a TA only feature. In DA you can use the rally points and governors as a roundabout autolaunch. Set all planets to a rallypoint, then when ships are built use the governor to cancel all ships going to rally points/on autpilot(something like that). You can then use the find button to go through them and give them their assignments.

I've had this from DL on to DA 2.0. When you get over a few hundred planets and have all or most producing somehting at once, I'll often lose build notifies from about end of year 2 on. The reloads thing will get them back for one turn, then nothing again. I've just learned to live with it by using Rally points and autolaunch.
I've never seen this feature... Where is it located?
Once you initiate a chat window with one of your friends there's a "Start Voice Chat" Button on the right towards the top. In fact I think I'm going to try to use that with a friend in a match we got planned later this evening since we both also have steam. It could be another alternative to teamspeak if everyone has steam that's playing. Anyone try this yet?
Even steam doesn't have a voice chat
Umm, yes it does. Works in or out of the games seemlessly too. It's good enough i've used just the voice chat in place of long distance phone calls :) . It's the one thing I'm waiting for Impulse to have then I can migrate more to it.

When the beta was going I played it a little on a XP3000 2.1Ghz and 6800OC 128MB. Even at lowest settings busy parts of the game were choppy. I had an old CPU too so it probably contributed, but I believe a 6800 is pushing it for smoothly playing DG. Needless to say I don't play on that setup anymore :)

Your actually pretty lucky dude. I have been around the GC2 forums for about three years and have seen him totally ban at least three people. At least one had their serials totally disabled and money refunded. Continuing to push it with posts like these isn't going to help.

Kind of like the puppy and the old hound. Owner used to visit and play with the hound everyday. Then along came the new puppy hogging all the attention. In the meantime the poor old hound just had to sit back and wait for his leaking doghouse to be fixed. [e digicons]:'([/e]

I have three characters(like the metaverse heh) My initial one, VileSanctum hasn't won a fight since the day he was created almost a week ago.He has the stone skin ability and still can't seem to win. The second TentecleRape is doing better, she has the lightning hands thing, a sword and a club. [e digicons][/e] My third guy is about as bad as my first [e digicons]:'([/e]

Thanks for that Snark. Now that I've been putting some time into TA though, I still haven't found cause to use them. The implementation is so user unfriendly that it's just not worht it to mess with. There was a lot of complaints and suggestions during the beta to make them more useful, but SD just seemed intent on slapping together some of the 2.0 features they had announced and a ton of useful suggestions went by the wayside. And now the extended meta downtime is star
Star Trek: Voyager is a good show.
Umm, not sure if anyone said this, but Welcome to the 1990's ;) . Voyager was my favorite one and the only one I don't think I missed an episode of from start to finish. I would put TNG second, though I would sigh when it was of those boring shows where they delve into one character's personal BS that didn't have any connection to any other of the shows. Just seemed like filler at times, but all the series had those typ

Unless it's included in the next update, you may have to fix it yourself. Seems like it may be something to do with being an original DL scenario played through TA with the new races, but I didn't dig that far just looking for the problem and the fix. Fixing it is pretty simple though. You pick the scenario editor from the TA launcher-editors. Now hit open and browse to C:\ProgramFiles\Stardock Games\GalCiv2\Twilight\Data\English\Campaign\Dreadlords and find look for the Apocalypse.gc
Though, given we don't have Gamestop down under, i have no idea how big of a retailer they are, they may be too big to deny ones products.
They are pretty major chain across the US, have bought out a lot of the competition and now hold a monopoly in many areas. Their PC support is lethargic at best though. They seem to make most their money giving kids next to nothing for selling them used console games that they then resell for 75% or more of the new retail price.

The staggered releases smells of an EA type raping of their customers. Seems like the merger with Activision has turned a great company into just another greedy corporate entity. RIP Blizzard of old [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e] . I'm not too fanatical about SC anyways, so I don't mind waiting for a bundle after all three is out at a discount.

I've found that GC2 is one of the easier games to do basic modding on. A lot of data is held in easy to understand and edit .xml files. Some of the graphics can be altered and changed rather easily. Using DesktopX for modding the .dxpack screens has a little more learning involved, but still can be overcome with a little reading, trial and error. There are some quirks to modding GC2 that you learn along the way and what all you can mod can be limiting at times, but it's all good :) .
