Not sure your OS but should be under /MyDocuments/My Games/GC2DarkAvatar or your OS's variation of such.
Also i've been considering getting a macbook this summer-- Does DL/DA/TotA run on those?
There has been a few people running them in emulators on Macs, but I have no first hand experience on that.

Here in town I don't see much, but I drive to the lake for work everyday and see plenty in between. I'm just not a hunter myself, but will take in some fishing in a few good spots I know :) . Hunting is huge around here though, some industries damn near shutdown during hunting season [e digicons]^_^[/e]

If I remember right originally DL did not have an overall sensor cap when it first came out(or maybe it was in the beta, long time ago heh). Due to all the slowdown it was causing by having so much of the map shown at once it was put in. We are talking PCs of three years ago though, so it probably wouldn't be as big a issue now.
Someone needs to play larger maps-I see them sporadically, or at least did as of 2.01.
No. I actually need to play more TA overall :) . I've only played a couple fully abundant games, possibly with 1.96 at that and didn't remember seeing any at the time. Though it was one of the things along with the overall planet counts that were nerfed in TA. Good to know at least a few are still around.

I'm sure it's been mentioned in this thread somewhere by now, but I'll throw in my vote for Oblivion. After playing hundreds of hours of Morrowind, Oblivion felt like a step backward in so many ways.

They're going to fix it, they have kept the GC1 meta going all this time and GC2 still has a hell of a lot of people using it. I admit, don't think I've ever seen it down this long before, but I am sure it will be back soon. Hopefully they get it by the weekend, be about ready to post one myself by then.

It seems the sleeping Evil is awakening once again. A lot of good games coming in with more being worked on. Some of us kind of took some time off there for a bit, but we're back and hunting puddy-tat [e digicons]}:)[/e]

I am somewhat surprised Zyx hasn't made a banner to promote his mod and attach it to his posts. I've seen other modders do that here sometimes. It would also eliminate the need to try to shoehorn a reference to it in every post. Not to sound judgemental Zyx, but sometimes your X-Worlds mentions seem a little forced into your posts.
Technically, you could just make a ton of races and then create a map that uses all of them.
Does this mean you can use the map editor to circumvent the ten race cap? If so , that is quite interesting :) .

Well, we wanted to have a larger pool of new "stock "races to choose from without having to direct players to a workaround using the customs. Also there is a plan(and some .dxpack work already underway) to have up to 24 opponent slots, again if we can find a way to get the game to utilize them properly. That in itself is starting to look like a little too ambitious of a goal. We'll still be striving for it until we find it a definate that it can't be done outside of a full decompiling

It would be so much more helpful for reviews to just have in depth descriptions of the elements of the game and any absolute pros and cons without an overall score. Personal opinions and preferences by the reviewer taint any type of scoring. Read up on all the unbiased info you can and try a demo. Unless it's an SD game(Which I preorder most of), if they don't have a demo 99% of the time then they don't get a sale. Of course all that is subject to change if the price is right and the

2GB is all GC2 will use as a 32bit app without using LargAddressAware(and that can make the game crash happy). In addition to the things mentioned, limiting how many invasions you run per gaming session can help immensely if you OOM is after a lot of invading. Seems every invasion adds between 6-30MB of additional RAM usage and doesn't get released for some reason at the conclusion of the invasion. Only OOM I ever had was due to running a pile of invasions in one session shooting my RAM usage

I wouldn't worry too much about the AIs having any advanced knowledge. A good colonizing strat will still out do the AI at all but the Highest levels(and then some peeps can beat them on suicidal even). Brad had stated that the AIs don't have foreknowledge of where colonizables worlds are, only resources. Hence them sending out scouts before colonizers in a lot of cases. This was said back when DA had first come out or before, so if it has changed in TA I don't know. They(for the most
Also what is it with the Galactic Guide book? I built it the other day, it says 'all ships can survey', then i took a constructor onto an anomaly and it says, "only servey ships can explore anomalies".? Huh??
IIRC It just makes the survey module free, but you still have to add it onto the design.

The reason the Surrender on/off feature was added was due to feedback originally from DL. The AI would just surrender with 30 planets or more at times all due to a perceived inferiority in military rating. If you were putting up a bogus rating using the SCC or Starbases the AI would surrender in a situation they could of won.
