I should of mentioned. I run windowed at the resolution of my primary monitor so I never minimize it, but have windows on top of it at times as well as doing things in the other monitor. I haven't run fullscreen mode since before DA came out so I'm not sure what issues that would have.

The base game DL ran fine for me on the default Win 7 64-bit drivers, but neither expansion pack would. I installed the Vista 64bit Graphics Drivers onto Win 7 and got both DA and TA to play. I have had TA crash a couple of times, but on both occasions it was after it had been running for 6+ hours, during which I switched focus back and forth to it repeatedly. So I'd say it's decently stable. I have also had no problem with any other games since switchig the drivers.

Well, I guess most of you know since i posted there I got on through a proxy site. Still not sure the problem, but I'll keep checking the direct route daily(no go this morning still). At least I can get on and post, just due to the proxy I can't load/see the vids or emoticons, but it's better than nothing :) .

Filezilla is the ftp client and my ISP is Embarq. I don't have router just using Xytel 660 DSL modem, which I did cycle with no luck. I hope I don't have to contact them over this, but I'm running out of things I can try on my end. It's just strange that ToE is the only site I can't go to.

Thx Dys, I shoulda remembered I could communicate here some even though the site seems to have been turned over to WCers and crazed republicans [e digicons]8C[/e] . but yea, What Dys said :) . It's like the site doesn't exist and my browser(all of them) time out looking for it. Thought it might have been some overprotective thing on Win7 doing it but even after booting to Xp I still have the same thing. btw: I can connect to the FTP part of the server fine, which probably only adds to the co

An update, since I haven't seen any further posts on this. I have gotten both DA and TA to work on Win7 64bit by using the Nvidia Gfx drivers for Vista 64. Haven't had a chance to test deep into a game yet, but all seems well on both expansions after running through a few turns on each.

I watch TM in a second monitor and a while back on 1.96 I experienced something in this realm. The game shot from around 750MB of usage up to 2.2GB in a couple of minutes for seemingly no reason and proceeded to crash. After the 2.0 update though I have not experienced it anymore. It sounds like your best bet is to work on getting your Impulse problem straightened out, then you will be able to tackle TA knowing that an outdated version is not the problem.

It sounds like the brick and mortor shops have started to take notice of the digital distribution platforms as competitors. They can keep selling the kiddies scratched up used console games for all I care. Being in a small town with the only place to buy PC games being Walmart, I'm glad to have access to games from Impulse and Steam. I can get games I otherwise wouldn't have access to(in a timely manner) and get them right away.

Who are the candidates? Where's the debates? Where do you stand on galactic warming? These are things people want to know before voting.
XP, me upgrade from XP: only if you pry it from my cold dead fingers!!!!"
I had to laugh at this because I have posted that exact thing before. Now though I am using the Win7 beta and liking it quite a bit [e digicons]:)[/e] . After Vista came together with SP1 and got the driver support it was starting to look inviting, but if MS is going to be releasing OSs this quickly it does make sense just to upgrade every other one anyways unless you are a power user that alway
