Love Tropico. Still have the first and it's expansion on disc, but this deal including 2 and having it on Impulse(I am so sick of digging through discs) = Buy! :)
DethAdder
I have played through the main game and most of the DLC with only one issue. The particular crash happens in one part of the game and is known(the Tranquility Lane indoor crash) it wasn't too hard to fix once i found a couple of posts on it. Besides that the game has been rock solid on over 40 hours of gameplay. In this day and age I was actually a little surprised how little issues I've had :) . I have a pretty decent system and run everything at next to highest settings(with highest thrown
Ack!! Half my images were hit, but like you said looks like imageshack is starting to recover them.
Wow, that is giving way too much control of your PC to an internet marketer.
It was not my intention to impugn the intellect of MP players.
I probably should of said "streamlined for MP", but I didn't want to make it sound like a good thing [e digicons];P[/e] . I like all the micro and have turns that have lasted eight hours. Unless it is PBEM, I think my opponents would fall asleep [e digicons]-_-[/e] . I am somewhat a reformed anti-MP person, since playing Demigod with some of my ToE comrades had been a lot of fun :)</p
Kryo's statement did give somewhat of a glimpse. Been kinda reading Brad's journals on Elemental and the as current attitude of not compromising the single player experience for MP is a huge plus. The meta provides a pseudo-multiplayer experience for those of us who otherwise don't play MP games. That directly influenced me(and i'm sure others) to keep playing a lot longer(and buying exapansions). So, I just really hope they have a meta for GC3. [e digicons]O:)[/e]
A GC3 world with no Metaverse, dumbed down for multiplayer!!! Oh the humanity!!! [e digicons]8C[/e]
The story I just saw had the headline of "M.J rushed to hospital not breathing", but after going into the story they said he had died. Could be one of those overzealous media types jumping the gun.
That is some great work Chirmaya! [e digicons][/e] Even though I've gotten used to working my way through most color issues in games(still can't find ten seperate custom colors for races in GC2 that I can distinguish) every little bit helps, and I hope the devs are watching. Besides easily losing DGs, I sometimes have to tell whos creeps are whos by the direction they are running [e digicons][/e]
1. Warcraft II 2. Earth 2150(inc. Moon Project, Lost Souls) 3. Perimeter 4. Star Trek: Armada 5. Sins of a Solar Empire(would of been higher with a story, campaign)
Cool thread! PC: 110-120 Xbox: 65-70 Gamecube: about 12 Genesis: 35-40 Dreamcast: 35-40 Saturn: about 25 NES: about 50 GBA: about 15
That's great news. I agree with lordkosc about the first being better. Hopefully this one will try to go back in that direction.
I gave some friends a shot at getting my coupon. Not their type of game for the most part, so first PM gets it.:) I will edit this when it is gone to avoid ongoing requests after the fact. ;) Update: Coupon is gone now, Thanks.
I use the same setup as KillaBart and use combo of the WASD and middle mouse grab/drag to scroll around. It takes some time to ween yourself off the archaic edge scroll, but between grab/drag and zoom to cursor it's the least efficient way to scroll now for me. :)
A friend and I play usually at least once a day lately. Same friend I play DG with daily. We've just started playing the last couple of weeks and have noticed that even with a "Friends-only" game random people just jump in the game for a chapter then usually leave. We've gotten to where we treat them the same as AI, ignore them and help them only if they're playing "correctly" :) . Anyways, we usually get our game on sometime in the US Central evenings. My nick there is, wait for it..
Sometimes it's not always what is seen publicly that gets you banned. A couple of years ago a guy got banned in the same manner from GC2 while it looked like he was just being slightly vocal with an issue he was having with the game. Turned out he had been sending abusive profanity laden email to Stardock employees also. Not saying that's what happened in this case, but just saying it isn't always so public as to the reasoning. I think everyone knows Chaos, but like some others I don't rememb
Personal Favs of all time... 1) Galactic Civilizations II(and expansions) 2) Well, no use mentioning lesser experiences. [e digicons];P[/e]
Nice change of pace post woppin. I have played 20-30 games with a friend in Australia since release with no issues or lag. I'm in Missouri U.S. btw. We always connect at a solid 302-307 ping. Even when his net was throttled to 512k(dues to the ISP monthly limits in Aus.) we still had the exact same ping and played fine. Goes to show you don't even have to have great speed as long as your connection is stable. Unfortunately it is hard to tell within the first few seconds of connecting
hmmm, that usually fixes that. You could also try to set it to windowed mode at your desktop resolution by changing the Fullscreen to =0 in that same file. If it works the game will appear fullscreen though it is technically windowed.
Go into your MyDocuments/MyGames/GC2Ultimate(I have the expansions seperate so it may not be called exactly GC2Ultimate) and look for the prefs.ini file. Open it up with note pad and change Res to DisplayWidth=1440 DisplayHeight=900 near the tope of the file. Save it and start it up :) .
Yes. A minor annoyance, but one you get reminded of everytime you start the game.
I haven't used the RC candidate yet. I had DA and TA running ok on Win7 after putting the Vista 64 Gfx drivers on it. With the initial Nvidia Win7 drivers DL would run ok, but both DA and TA would crash on the galaxy load screen. My info is a little outdated because i got pushed back to using mainly XP for some of my older games and apps to run right.
Great vid! [e digicons][/e] I find a lot of comedy/parody songs are just more entertaining and more intelligently written than most of the mainstream crap played on commercial radio nowadays.
Is there a link to the full interview/video? There was nothing about piracy or anykind of report on Demigod, just an overview of the concecpt.
But then I forget whether you can turn research off completely or not...
Spending slider to zero :)
