I have SoC and love it. Haven't finished it yet, but find the story so far to be good. The real winner for me in this game is the atmosphere and combat model. You can feel the sense of desolation in the zone, an almost survival horror feeling at times. It can be a little hard to get a handle on if your used to running and gunning, because that will get you killed quickly. In combat you need to check your approach. Stay down, use cover, fire in short controlled bursts. The ballistic model is p

This game seems to have flown under the radar of a lot of people. I didn't hear about it until seeing posts about it here asking when it was going to be on Impulse. I like it so far and look forward to how it progresses. The Devoloper reminds me a little of SD back when I got into GC2, involved in the community and seemingly committed to furthering the game based on listening to the players. I think a few have been trying to add to the genre. Fallout 3 I thought put some good RPG elements in with FPS gameplay. A few games are kinda doing that now. Use to your only evolvement during the game was to get bigger guns. Which is fun too, I loved the Serious Sam games for that type of style. More open gameplay areas/options Kinda GTAlite style, like FarCry2 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. I found fun as well. Maybe it's just me, but I still find a lot of fun in even if the genre's improvements as a
I've been using this Gigaware one with Skype for quite a while. No complaints from me or the people I talk to on it :)
I thought the ways their laws were set up made it Illegal to have the normal versions of those games even sent in to the country?
I meant something a little more nefarious, torrents and the like. I mean if I wanted to play something and was not allowed to buy it because of what I felt to be unjust regulations... On a more legal front, what's to stop me in US from buying a boxed copy sticking it in a brown box and shipping it to a bud. Really the only thing they are stop
It's not like any Aussie with an internet connection can't get those games anyway. All their government is doing is promoting piracy. ..And I agree about Vegemite. A friend had sent me some and OMG!! [e digicons]8C[/e]
I've been using it a few days. Showed up last week or so, but initially got an error trying to install it. Thanks to one of the SD peeps suggestion in a thread around here somewhere it works great now :)

Cool! I can make use of it again :)
I'm a huge Trek fan, but MMO = NoNoNo [e digicons][/e] . Wish someone would redo Elite Force with the HL2 engine or maybe a new Armada game.
Hmm, it says "This program not compatible with your current operating system". Seriously? XP SP3 here. Every other one I've tried works fine and there is nothing in the info/requirements to say otherwise for this one.
I still have Starlancer, but don't really remember much about it. I kinda suck at Space/flight Sims for the most part so never put a lot of time into it. I might give it another look once i get a new tuner card(last one died) and get my old systems hooked back up to the PC. DC is still great little machine with a sizeable library of games :)
Even though there is a couple of little things that are annoying it has an addicting pull. Just can't seem to stop playing it once I get started. Has anyone else had the load times jump way up after it's been running for 8 hours or so?(yea it's that kind of addiction ;) ). The load times will be about 5-10 seconds for the most part, then after a long session they will start to jump up to close to 2 minutes(especially if there is a cutscene after the load). Restarting the game fixes it
This weekend for US :) I just save the hour for when they take it back away in the spring ;)
Does that mean Cesar Millan could tame Demigod's resident rabid dog(UB)? :)
weed
That might work. Reduce energy output, would reduce the need for as much energy production :) . Rest of of the world already thinks we're a bunch of slackers, why not ;) .
I freely admit the post was borne of frustration. For that I apologize - and apologies to DethAdder as well.
No need to apologize to me, I have my internet skin :) . Besides I admit I am not as privy to the situation in this particular instance as others here. Not necessarily a knock on Bioware if their explaination and intentions are legitimate. I just am seeing this as a trend among quite a few Publishers(devs sometimes being forced into it) and it isn't going to stop
Not long ago this wouldn't even be an issue. Then it was you bought the game and got everything that came with, no seperate piecemeal deal. If some parts weren't quite ready for primetime you'd see them as a small piece of a later full expansion pack. Instead they want to give these tiny bits saying it's DLC to give the illusion of getting something more when in fact they could of just sold Dragon Age:Origins Period, everything included. It almost feels like they had a completely developed ga
I used to be one of those people that collected all the shiny boxes and was proud of my monument to slacking. One day though I looked over at the six, three foot high stacks of game boxes taking up a good portion of space in my computer room and thought "What the hell am I keeping all this crap for?". Hard drive space is cheap and a lot more practical when moving. I have collected a few shelves worth since dumping those, but I have done pretty well in weening myself of all the clutter
Works fantastic just ask dat Aussie there ^^ :) edit:page break screwed me lol [e digicons][/e]
Thank You for jumping on this so quickly. I won't get to test it out till my friends are on later, but looking forward to going back to direct connect or NAT, as it reduces my pings by about 50 or so over proxying.
Reminds me of an old Dennis Leary stand-up bit about the convenience store clerk with a tongue ring and flavored coffee. "What is this crap?" "Mnuttrntcrnch" "Huh?" "Mutter nuott crnch" "Butter nut crunch?" "Nyess" [e digicons][/e]
Isn't this Blizzard's first major release since Activision's involvement? We already are seeing their money hungry influence expecting people to buy three times for one game. I'll have to wait and see if this will truly be another classic like the blizzard of old, or one of the new rape the customer base for all you can squeeze out of them attitudes some companies are adopting.
Yes I know the differences, and it was half joking. The fact is though that Steam has the ability to act as it's own DRM since you have to have their client running and be logged into their servers to play it(offline mode is a joke). Depending on the type of SecuROM used that can actually be more restrictive. I'm not really knocking Steam(I have close to 50 games through them), I just think publishers sometimes feel Impulse itself is not enough DRM for them since once the item is installed yo
And on Impulse, probably infested with Securom and yet Steam won't have it (Securom). Not sure what the deal is with that.
Because it is infested with Steam instead :)
