There isn't even a 'Skinning for Dummies' publication that can entice the casual interested party into taking things further. [though maybe the Wiki will help there]. I always thought there could be a way to simplify skinning a windowblind. Why not include a demo windowblind that can be 'reskinned' piece by piece so that a new skinner can become familar with the parts of a blind without having to try to read the ' how to ' as they attempt a first blind.

c242- for what its worth, I think your solution would have worked fine if skinners would have adopted it. But like you pointed out, the weather widgets kept flooding in and the only skins available were the ones you submitted. Which, by the way, all look great. You can call it ' flooding ' all you want but the bottom line is people downloaded the weather widgets. They come looking for matching elements to a windowblind , they want to download it

Honestly, I just don't get these posts that seem so out of place at a skinning site. Im not heartless at all and my first thought when I read this was " Is this supposed to be a joe user forum post " because if not why on earth would you post this in a skinning site. But, lets not make an example out of just this one post, lets go for the hundreds of other posts that people spill their guts in the forum talking about everything from their cat dying to their suspicions that their step child

So many things I could debate but I won't get into it. Meat, I do see your point and your not really ' wrong' per se... But, just that telling someone their skin is ' icky' serves no purpose at all. You are correct to a certain degree and thats because so many of the older skinners are gone. But insulting the newer/beginner skinners is not going to improve anything. I use very few WB skins. Im not into changing very often. I used Apocalypse's Xmas blind for a solid year....not

While I agree with you for the most part Alternate Settings.. "Perceived Injustices" can be a broad range of perceptions. We have all been guilty at one time or another of interpreting ' things, statements, rules ' etc in our own way. So what we perceive as' injustice' isn't always the case.

Just go to the Theme itself, there will be a link to click on to update or go to your " Skin" list and click on EDIT ( you must be signed in to WC of course ) There should be a link that says " Skins" right above where you login to WC.

So the only thing i said it's that in all case (not only this one) people can have some permissions to use some graphics and the role of moderators is not so simple. Take this one how many of us knew this deviation and those of Jark (i guess some of the "olders" yes) Then that makes it a bit more clear...the DA Fella can be used unaltered.. Which is how it was used in the links provided.

PO' : A while ago I submitted a wall that featured 'my' version of the Deviantart logo and the 'Fella'...not cut and paste..my own interpretations. It was rejected and I recieved an email asking me to kindly get permission from DA to use the images. This happened with my 'Fella Cursor', and I got the permission and re-uploaded. With this wall, I just said the hell with it and let it go. Because I don't understand. I understand they are logo's, trademarks, copyrigh

it seems to be hiding the taskbar, but not disabling the 'keep on top' i had set. It wants to set itself above where the taskbar would be and when I moved it down, maximized windows are restricted in size (small gap left/top/right with a large gap below the window and above the bar. Same here on 1024 ...I'll play with it more in the AM. But its looks good....

Some of the skins I use will cause the icons on the lower right side of the task bar to disappear. Are you referring to your icons in 'SysTray' near your clock ? That happens with certain skins - make sure in your Windowblinds config > User Overrides > " Let skin decide Taskbar size" is chosen on slide menu... then apply changes. I have tried deleting & reinstalling AlienMind suite. I have tried deleting Theme Manager & reinstalling. I've run into this once or twice with other updates. Not sure why it happens at times but did you try using the ODNT Zapper to remove - then reinstall Theme Manager? odnt_zapper link: WWW Link
