One other point to note when dragging items around in the queue: if you're in the 6-10 group you need to use the right-button drag technique (as described above) but I neglected to mention one key point; After you 'right-drag' your queue item to the left, you usually need to 'left-click' on the left-arrow while still holding the right mouse button down. Interestingly, this is the only case that I know of where you use the left-button &
Is there a way to assign spells, special abilities and items to those seven action slots a unit has, i.e. override the automatic assignment? Sometimes the production queue of a city gets reordered (i.e. messed up). I have not yet figured out exactly when that happens. Apparently it has to do with the addition of more than four buildings to the queue (more than fit into the visible area on the "build" tab) where some of them are ext

I have experienced these strange pathfinding issues also, and I have never had auto-explore turned on. And I've also had issues with a Pioneer, going from point-A to point-B, trying to go right through a monster lair and getting killed.

After reinstalling FE, and my custom faction, and installing the 1.11 patch, I am happy to note that I played a 3 hour session today with no crashes at all. My thanks to the Devs and the community for resolving these issues so quickly.
I'm not saying it will make a difference but you might want to go the final mile and delete the game and reinstall it. There is some game history of baggage from past versions causing grief in the current version. It's hard to spot the culprit but things can get twisted if you have played the current version even once with old factions, sovereigns, or saved games involved so sometimes it's best to be sure and nuke em from orbi
Do note that they released a custom beta patch yesterday to deal with the save problems. You might want to give it a try if you're having them: https://forums.elementalgame.com/438260
Thanks Kalin, I've just downloaded it. After reinstalling the game and creating my custom faction again, I still have had some crashes but perhaps not as many as
In all honesty, the patch doesn't appear to have a lot of complaints because of instability. And the devs have been testing the game, and we've been beta'ing it, on both 32-bit and 64-bit WinXP and Win7 systems, with a lot and little RAM, for several months. This isn't to make light of your complaint, but you might want to focus just on that, without making other assumptions.
<span style="font-size

In my first game with 1.1 I've had 5 or 6 crashes also - sometimes the 'blue screen of death,' sometimes the 'white screen of death,' and sometimes it just dropped out and left me on the desktop. I also was using a custom faction. I'll try to delete it and rebuild it in 1.1.

I started a new game after loading 1.1 and the game proceeded to crash about 5 or 6 times. I was wearing out my power supply! I have never seen a game so unstable as the [1.1] patch. The game is virtually unplayable now. This patch put me mind of an old Gahon Wilson cartoon (about 40 years ago). There was a scene of some kids selling lemonade at a stand on the corner, with lots of smili

Two reasons... 1] The turn-based strategy game is a niche market that appeals to more mature audiences, 2] The game is still in development (with a new development team), and the users (us) have a greater need to help each other out than in most games which have already completed their development. i.e
+ Fixed bug in mapgenerator.cpp in which terrain decals were being loaded and placed (we don't display them so we were just using CPU and memory for no reason)
Good to hear this. I sincerely hope that the Dev team will continue to find ways to tighten up the code in order to use the minimum amount of memory necessary to get the job done. As things stand, the game still crashes way to often.

I would rate the game a solid 7. I deducted a point for its current unfinished state. I deducted a point for the lack of flexibility between male & female characters/graphics. Hopefully this will be rectified in the future. I also deducted a point for lack of sea/ship development available in the game. Ther
