Cool! Do that include the front page feed (http://rss.wincustomize.net/wincustnews.xml) as well? Because it's been "broken" for a long time for me, showing "nbsp;" and "br/" and every post having "bwardell at stardock.com" as an author. BTW, the feed icon on the front page still links to the old feed (might be updated the next time the cache is refreshed?)

Thanks a lot. A lot of my christian friends are taking the Bible more as an human creation inspired by God (and thus not to be taken literally) and for them those passages are not to be taken seriously today (more like historical tidbits). They generally keep the NT, and kind of disregard the OT. I'm simplifying a great deal here, but you get the point. It's always interesting to discuss with people that see things differently. I still disagree with a lot of what you say,
I never said I was ok with not doing what the scriptures say. You're putting words in my mouth all over the place here.
Sorry, that really wasn't my intention. I think I better understand where you're coming from now. I'm still interested in knowing how you deal with it in practice though. Take my quote of Exodus 35-2 for example. How exactly do you explain that part (killing people is not something you try to comply to, right?) and what would be an objective r
No, they should have went to another photographer, told their friends about the first photographers and acted like adults...
Wanting to be treated fairly is not acting like children. You make it sound like it's easy to find another photographer. If they can't find a photographer because every one decides to discriminate against gay/black/woman/jewish (and the past has showed us that's it's not hypothetical) then I think the government has the right to get involved.
Somethings I may not understand or want to comply with but I do respect the whole counsel of God
So, there are parts you don't want to comply with? Why exactly and what's preventing you from doing so (convenience, the law...)? I'm not being sacarstic here, I honestly want to know. Note that by "pick and choose", I also meant you're taking some parts litterally and some you choose interpret. You're telling us God says homosexuality is an abominatio
Well, if this part of the Bible is not subject to interpreation (and not a result of people perceptions and thoughts at that time), then surely neither are every other teachings in it. Do you respect everything the Bible says (I doubt it, that just isn't possible these days), or do you choose the parts that you feel good about? One day you might find yourself at the other end of the stick, with people calling your way of living an abomination, telling you that you're a bad christian a
It might be the same bug I found last week. Go to %AppData%\Stardock\SoundPackager\ and try to remove (or move to another location) the "Temp Packages" folder. Then restart SoundPackager. It will take some time to rebuild its cache. If that doesn't work, you might try to remove the whole contents of the %AppData%\Stardock\SoundPackager\ folder (make a backup first!). SoundPackager will crash the first time you start it again (already reported too). Simply start it a secon
Thank you for pointing that out.
WideString length restricted to 255 characters
The Create new skin window says "max 20 chars" and it sure isn't checking for either value. I guess it's another small issue: it should probably say max 255 chars in that window. I haven't included all the info & repro steps, otherwise the post would have been way too long, but most of the SkinStudio bugs happen without modifying config files directly. That said, som
In some cases, it seems to depend of the install location. Windows path handling has strange limits due to backward compatibility. IIRC you have to take into account the filename itself, the full path and the combination of the two. In most cases, it will crash with names over 260 chars long.
I had a bit of free time last week, so I tried to make good use of it and try to break Stardock programs. All the problems found have been reported to support, but I'm posting them here so people having similar problems can reference this thread and help limit duplicates. I've tried to check the forums prior to reporting some of those issues, but some duplicates might have slept through. I honestly thought I would find a lot more crashes :) The first few ones were easy enough (and se
Bah, too slow... ;)
I talked to milksama about it before submitting my first dynamic dream. I had a few dynamic dreams that were ports of XboxMediaCenter screensavers. Those were licensed under the GPL, which means you have to distribute the source code along the binaries. I thought it was better to ask before releasing that source code. Milksama talked to Island Dog about it and he said that releasing dynamic dreams was OK, but that source code was not. Loss of revenue can be an explanation, but
Unfortunately, I kind of "promised" not to share any source code until the official SDK is released. So it would not be fair to release the info I have. Plus you don't want to piss off Brad these days :D If you want the official word on that matter, ask Island Dog or Brad.
My bad, it was some leftover test code that I forgot to comment! I've updated the download with a new version. Remove the previous version before unzipping this one. Additionally, there is a "CleanupRegistration.reg" registry file in the package that you might want to merge, as I renamed the NetDockletHelper dll. The marshalling code is not that big, maybe 100-200 lines in managed code, a little bit more in native code. The .Net runtime is doing most of the job for us, the only
It's probably a bug and since there is no logging and no check for the installed .Net Framework version, it's hard to know why it's not working. A couple of things to check: - it needs to be in "Docklets/DotNetDocklets" as the path is hardcoded - make sure you have the latest version of the .Net Framework 2.0 (SP1) I'm in the process of cleaning the code a bit (removing the really idiotic parts so as not to look too bad :p) and I'll make it available [link="http://cod
There is a file named backgrounds.uis in the parent folder with the list of textures.
Ah well, time to update it I guess The part that really needs some love is C++ side. There is a lot of crappy code there that I need to rewrite. The C# part is just an interface and some helper functions, so it can be kept mostly unchanged. Update: Stupid RegistrationServices.RegisterAssembly wants to write to HKCR instead of HKCU//Software//Classes. I redirected it using RegOverridePredefKey but there may be a less convoluted way to do it. Here is a [link="http://www.
Thank you! ;) And congratulations to the other promoted.
You can turn the blurring off in the configuration window. I'm going to change the options to have it disabled by default. If you run at lower performance settings, everything is already kind of blurry anyway :) I like to have my background slightly out of focus, but I agree it's a bit too much presently. Oh, and good to hear it's finally working :)
There is definitely something wrong with it. I've added a log file (found in "%ProgramData%\Stardock\DeskScapes\ExtractedData\" in the folder named "Valentine {...}") and modified a few things. You can find this version [link="http://www.templier.info/downloads/ValentineDream.zip"]here[/link]. Can you try the new one to see if it's better? Zubaz & WOM: the registry change is only to fix things if it crashes. It simply tells Deskscapes to stop loading the dream
The zip file has been updated with the latest version. It should show up on Wincustomize in a few days. Changes: - New "Heart" particle texture - Fixed configuration window (no more reloading of the Dream on configuration change) - Fixed reloading of textures - Fixed behavior on higher quality settings
La version française est disponible [link="http://www.templier.info/downloads/CursorFX_-_French_(1036).zip"]ici[/link] en attendant d'être intégrée dans la prochaine version. (and submitted to support)
Working on a [link="https://www.wincustomize.com/articles.aspx?aid=174456"]dynamic dream[/link].
Yes. While I may do some "Master" dreams in the future, this one as well as the [link="http://www.templier.info/2008/01/22/dynamic-dreams-in-construction/"]ports of XboxMediaCenter screensavers[/link] will be free.
Thanks! I plan to release a few test builds before uploading the final version to WinCustomize. As I wrote before, the first test build will just be the dlls and resources and a small utility called TestDream that loads the Dream in a window. That way, no need to worry about crashes :)
