The popularity of using a local milkman may be in decline, luckily some of the dafter notes that people have left are preserved for posterity. Here are just a couple:- 'No milk. Please do not leave milk at No. 14 either as he is dead until further notice.' 'Milk is needed for the baby. Father is unable to supply it.'

Why wouldn't I want to subscribe ? For a Brit, it presently costs just over a penny a day. Over a year, it's less than the cost of a Monthly magazine. Forget the fringe benefits, no ads, the browser, subscriber skins, your own personal pages etc.. The point for me, is to support the site, to help keep it active, support it's development, and most importantly, to help keep it accessible to all. That's really important, it's that level of accessibility that helps ena

Woot: So cool to be able to post that Zoomba - it just keeps on getting better. For us Brits it's a brilliant exchange rate at the moment - it only works out at about £5.00 per year. Around these parts, they call that 'cheap as chips'.

I've been thinking about this more and more recently. If anybody ever asks you how best to make the most of Wincustomize, tell them they simply have to relax. If you are new here and overwhelmed by the options, relax. There's no rush to see everything at once, not only will everything still be here tomorrow, there'll probably be some new stuff. Maybe you've been a few times and just begun to realise the site is bigger than it first appeared. Apart from the scale of the forum

Way to go sublime My last post in this thread - neither brevity, nor levity - just heartfelt. Looking at some of the recent posts that have raised genuine concerns, it's easy to forget that while both big & small charities are open to the same problems that any business may have, most genuine charities are doing the best they can. Existing primarily to gather and focus resources, in order to meet a need that other agencie

@Phil, In fairness, looking at how I wrote my first post, I can see that it looked as if I was suggesting that Multi-National agencies are inherently incapable of building on an event. My bad, I was having a rare crack at brevity. I should have taken more care & qualified my initial statement. My apologies. Andy
* "anything that encourages dialogue between local businesses and Community resources, has got to be good." This asumes that Stardock is just a local business. Thirdly, I am sorry to hear that you feel a Global Charity does not "go on to build on relationships and create benefits that continue beyond the initial event." This has not been my experience with a number of international charities I have dealt with.
Phil, I posted as an ex C

Oooh don't BookChick - I'm already in so much trouble with her indoors for spending a fortune on my latest toys. FWIW John, I sourced mine through Amazon. (Intuis3 (A4)) Pretty much does as it's advertised, I've not really adapted yet to drawing on one surface, while looking at another - but that appears to be just a matter of practice. For Photoshop user's with a graphics tablet, the link below is a good starting point when beginning to tackle settings for the brush

I think it's a great idea. Further, while a Global charity would have it's merits, a child is a child, and anything that encourages dialogue between local businesses and Community resources, has got to be good. Unlike a Global charity, local responses often go on to build on relationships and create benefits that continue beyond the initial event.

The draw is now closed and no further entries will be included. Crowd control has been informed, so there's no good trying to sneak one past me . For those brave few that cracked opened their graphics software and brightened up this thread with their entries, thanks folks, I'll post the results here very shortly. I favour the 'join in' stuff. Mostly because it encourages me to keep on opening up my own graphics software and getting some more practice in. Anything where people are still genuinely interested/excited about what they're doing - I love it when someone takes the time to write a tutorial or guide .... beyond that it's just whatever attracts me at the time .... Happy Halloween all.
