For what it's worth, I haven't run these but I checked out both Wood Workshop & Genetica Viewer, at virustotal.com. When sourced from this link WWW Link they were both reported as containing no identifiable viruses. In the first place, the sort of people who are habitually catching viruses due to lack of basic care, are unlikely to be the sort of people who will choose to run a linux OS. Secondly it's not an either/or situation at this point. XP is supported until at least 2014...... so if you already have it, there's no great impetus to abandon Windows in favour of an alternative. I wouldn't like to work out exactly where Stardock's parenting role of the community begins & ends. I don't even know if there is a responsibility beyond that of producing an honest product with a degree of technical support to the consumer,who may or may not choose to become part of a skinning community.
