Here it is:

"Dude. What is UP, man?!"

I don't begrudge anyone their talents for the game, and in fact am highly admiring of anyone who can put in the time and study to excel at anything in life, but this guy is pumping out two or three gigantic/maso victories PER DAY for the past, what... half year or so? What is UP?

Other questions are:

1. How long does each one generally take?
2. How does it not get boring doing the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over again? (At least, when you look at the game record, it looks somewhat repetitive... maybe each of the games is a new, exciting adventure, I dunno.)

I'm afraid this message will sound accusatory, trust me that I don't mean it to. I'm just curious how (and why!) he does it.

I mean, even on Large, the only games I've played which took less than three or four hours were ones that I lost quickly (and there were a LOT of them, don't you worry!)

Is this just a ONE-MAN GC WRECKING CREW or what?

(If this has been discussed before, just point the way. I did a search but failed at finding anything.)

That would put you in the competition with the Guardians that you want, since we have metals for Yor Basher, Yor Destoyer, etc. and Yor destruction is one of our foci.

I wonder if we should start an empire which changes its name every week? Keep switching the obscure science-fiction reference, so as to attract the fanatics, and by the time we've changed the name to something else they'll be one of us.

So is it possible to create a Empire that will fit the requirements ?

I think with the number of GC active players that exist right now.

Empires based on a region or nationality are too limited in scope.

The same can be said with theme based empires.


I hope something can be worked out.

When I mentioned "System Lords" yes you can think of a Stargate reference, even pick an avatar if you are a fan, but the Empire would not have to hype "Stargate".

I am thinking in these terms.

To rule the Galaxy you are aimimg to be the Lord over all the systems the Galaxy is comprised of.

A strong name that needs no protection from Pirates and does not need protection from Guardians.

Something themed based but would not turn away people not interested in themed based empires.

I made a deal that if I was the only one (in my empire)submitting games in one month, I would move on to another empire. I will seriously consider your offer. One thing, if I join can I retain a Senate seat (per my existing New Texas Republic arrangement)?

BTW, System Lords is a good name as it works on a few levels (i.e. Star System, Computer System, Maso-play System)

I think Homer lifted the name Max Power from a hair dryer. :)

I do like the various interpretations of 'System Lords'. I might like it better if they weren't the false gods from Stargate - would we all have to talk in strange deep voices and fail to execute Colonel O'Neill when we get the chance?

Who gets to be a senator has yet to be decided. So has who gets to be the emperor. We need some sort of consitutional basis for making decisions of such gravity. Or maybe I could plagiarise someone else's constitution? That sounds easier.

Let's see what I can find on the internet...

Mat if you like you can be emperor of StarFleet.. I don't care.... ;) So long as we can get at least 4 active players I'd be very happy.. :) Everyone stated that they liked the idea of Starfleet however no other regular players joined.. I think that most new empires now will suffer the same fate.. They've found out (well come to their sences ) that they can support other empires without being apart of them.. through the msgs in the empires forum.. (which BTW is where I believe this chatting should be... really)


Serously though:

Why should I stop now.. trying to get recruits.. I've been trying for 4 months... and in that time my conscripts and I have taken starfleet from 22nd in the metaverse up to 14th I think that it shows how dedicated I am... and If Starfleet got more submitting members then we would give everyone a run for their money...

I'd hate to see you suffer like I am.... ( :( but its up to you and everyone else as to what they want to do)

I can see it happening 2 ways.. first that you get the members you want then you take over 1st place the metaverse has 2 huge empires to try to catch up to.. while both are climbing quicker than the other empires can... as they have the active members...
Or your venture fails.. and you end up like me with little except verbal support for your empire

What I'd like to see is that the active members spread themselves out accross the top 20 empires and make it into a real open competition.. where anyone could be in first place..

Its up to us all to make the metaverse a fun compedative place .. or the metaverse will simply turn into a black hole and suck the life out of all empires axcept 1 or 2 ...

Please think about what I've said everyone... This is why i'm staying put and NOT moving into a larger , higher ranked empire

all it really takes is say 2 active players / empire scorring 60k / gamne to make it a great battle.. I can remember when there were many empires josatling for position.. The top10 always had movement between the empires on the rank list.. It was fun and more compeditave...
