Actually, you guys are doing quite well for a 2-man empire. If'n you can entice Rainbird away from the ANZACs, you might find recruiting a bit easier. Sure, she's evil, but hedonism seems to fit with her theme just as well...

As for Rainbird, well she sure would be welcome here if she wanted, I for one have nothing against evil, as you can see by my average morality! The trick would be in keeping her though, she does seem to flit from one empire to another a lot. So first we'd have to throw a party of parties to entice her here, and then we'd have to make sure she had so much fun, she didn't want to leave.

May have a score to submit tonight, nearly finished a gigantic game.

What you need is to hold a party for both Wild Wombat and rainbird. Then they can tango for ever in the party pleasure zone..

Just checked metaverse and looks like last game posted by anyone was Sept 11 and rest of them has been couple months or more.Looks like 22nd spot only matter of time.

Eris is the Greek Goddess of Chaos and Confusion. She was known to the Romans as Discordia. She was apparently the daughter of Ares. She is largely held responsible for setting in motion the chain of events leading to the Trojan war.

However, in the 1960s to 1970s she mellowed out with a couple of Californians and started a movement called the Discordian Society. Fnord is a word that appears without explanation in her holy book, the Principia Discordia, mentioned above in this thread somewhere.
Although an explanation later appears in the 'Illuminatus!' trilogy by Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea, which is the second great Discordian text.

The main author of the Principia went by the name of Malaclypse the Younger, in several places abreviated to Mal-2. There is actually a player called 'Mal-2' but they are in a one man empire called 'Bavarian Illuminati'. In the Principia it says "We Discordians Should Stick Apart". Of course it also has a commandment forbidding the Discordian from believing anything they read.

So anyway, it was clear to me that the Empire Fnord was mostly composed of Discordians. 23 incidentally is a sacred number to Discordians. Hense the battle for 23 was being fought by us and a clearly discordian group. That we won I attributed to the fact that Eris smiled in our favour.

The hypothesis that Eris is a renegade Altarian is an interesting one. One thing is for certain though, she likes stirring up trouble of one kind or another...

Well, I just finished a biggie, and RL is intefering with my plans this weekend. Have a fun conference to attend, and some overtime at work tommorow (normally I do a three day week, tues-thurs) due to urgent projects needing completion. I may have to leave the honours of this forthcoming victory to Senator Eradicus...

I hope to get a weekend off this coming one.Have been putting in mucho overtime last three weeks(20 some straight days now) and was only able to get one game in.Have a large map underway but very early in game and already those vanquished Drengins are cropping up again. might get it finished if I could at least get one day off.No rest for the weary.

I'm afraid I haven't been very active in the past week myself. Illness, partying and the research and writing of an article about pre-authoritarian civilisations, which will of course be relevent to our empire and published on the PanGaea website, have all meant that I haven't had time to play GalCiv!

But don't panic, I plan to bring another galaxy under the intoxication of our party banner this weekend...

Kevin I noticed on your game submission screen that you play for cultural conquest.This is good but if you are after points turn off the option of cultural victory and play like normal.In the end when you culture flip all races you will get a higher score but as a military victory which is basically same thing.Just try to stay out of wars and become friends with all races.Better yet get close relations with all races at same time and offer all alliances on same turn.Then culture bomb away!! They won't get angry with party palaces as long as you are an ally.But if you only offer alliance to one race then you can get dragged into wars.
