Hi all. Just checking in. To use a well-worn phrase, "I can't believe how much has happened. I've only been absent from the forum a few days". LOL.

Natavnik, when I play a huge or gigantic map, I find it much more fun to play rare and tight clusters. I used to play scattered, abundant in all my games but on a huge or gigantic that seems to take forever and is very tedious. Rare is great. You can win with 4 to 6 systems . . . if all goes well. ;)

Glad those new medals arrived but unless they backtrack, we may never see Ray with a previous number one medal, which kind of makes a joke out of some of the new medals for me. I am pretty sure Ray has still held the number one ranking longer than even Cotal/Ginata. Oh well, better late than never I reckon, so thanks for the new medals stardock. Have a great day. I need to fire up a new gig maso soon to give FotR some points for me to stay in the top ten. :)

Thks for the tip Ricbayer. Maybe I'll go with rare.

But first I have to let my eyes rest: after 8 hours staring at the computer screen at work, my eyes need a break. Something like taking them out and putting them in a glass of cold water. Right now even the brightness of the screen blinds me.

I can't see how you are just down at Crippling Ray..

I checked Kasual Kids statbot to see how some of us in the SF rated by his calcs.. and then I thought I'd have a look at yours.

Killa is rated at 9.56 difficulty and you are 9.39 (I hope I remembered these right) that doesn't seem like much difference. It wouidl be interesting to know what the bands are and how they are calculated.

my difficulty level is a paltry 8.67

Well, pooh. That's a downer. I just finished another Small/Maso and submitted it. Nothing out of the ordinary. I go to check my standing in the Metaverse and the game isn't showing up. :(

Tried resubmitting. No luck. So, I've emailed the save game to Cari. Hmmm...that's weird. I've got a Painful shield now, instead of that Challenging one. Weird.

Well, it's late here and I'm really tired. See you guys in the morning! Hopefully Cari will have good news for me tomorrow.

I'm not sure how they work it.. Mr. Furious f.k.a Jeff de Silva is showing 9.43 on the statbot but only Painful on his shield..

I'm sure your guess woudl be better than mine... There's a task for you Ray, trying to work out the formula for the calc's :)

Welcome to the Brethren of the Painful Theoden.. and by the way its about 30 degrees c and Sunny in Sydney at the moment.

No need to ask Ray what it is in Singapore it will always be about 32 degrees and Hazy, unless there are storms in the area.. Then its 32 degrees and stormy.

Ray, I was rated 9.58 by statbot and got a painful shield initially. I submitted another game and promoted to crippling. On my last submission, I noticed I now had the black shield, so maybe it is just a matter of submitting a couple of games to get your black shield.

weird. me and jaws both have beginner games in our record - and in the middle rather than at the start. mine was when i was testing ebz's guide. so maybe that skews it downward or something.
