I could be totally wrong but I think only administrators have access to programs that make changes. If this is the case, then set up a user called Friends and use that instead of Guest and give them limited administrative privileges.

I use the skins listed in the top ten as inspiration and if the list is short my inspiration is gone. I still am trying to figure out what is chic. Thanks to WOM I know where to look. This site is huge and one can get lost if not shown the way. I once was lost but now I am found! FWIW I used the background of CD sysmetrix CPU histogram for my last skins inspiration. I had no idea those headings were clickable, either. I was trying to say in a round about way that with a skin as good as CopperDeck having all those listings in the top downloads was redundant. Honestly, it should have something special because it more than likely will dominate the top downloads for a long time to come.

I should add, if you download one CopperDeck skin the chances are your going to download the skin for every app. So adding all to the list just shows how many apps ppl are using. Muddy Logic

In the display properties of the control panel there is an appearance tab which has all the WB skins you have downloaded. WB has default skins so there should be a short list there. Find the skin you want and click apply. If that doesn't work then turn WB on from the start menu and try again. You can also right click the WB icon on the taskbar and in properties choose a skin from there.

Couple suggestions: Remove the icons from the desktop, cross your fingers that someone knows of such a theme, or learn how to make one. DesktopX is not hard with a little time messing around with it.

I edit my registry all the time by cleaning out program values that I no longer have. For instance, I removed every entry associated with AOL which I don't have and there were many entries put there by downloading partner programs. I just rencently tried to remove everything dealing with Browserwise which I installed and didn't like. That is one plugin that is very hard to remove. Editing the registry is not a forbidden proceedure as long as whoever is doing it knows exactly

YEs. I can't remember exactly what changes icons so my best guess would be in the folder options/file association there is a button to change the icon.

I don't want to sound my own whistle but my A Mee Baa XPCursor theme has all the cursors inside the zip in cursor form and can be moved into the window\cursor folder to be used as stand alone cursors. I don't know if it will go with your OD theme but another download is as good as a wink to a blind horse.

The log off/on buttons are confusing. They are moved using the content margins in the start menu bottom bar graphic. Another confusing move is the user picture. The best way to figure out margins is to use the ole trial and error method. A tip: the preview in SkinStudio is not always 100% accurate. There are times when the skin just has to be loaded on the PC to see exactly what the change looks like.

I want to update the skin Ctrl D World but it has a rating of 9 and seems the moderator is stuck on 6. I did update it once before to fix a few bugs and it dropped from 8 to 6 and now it is up to 9. Quandary, update and drop the rating or keep the 9. IMO There should be a rating curve for those that can't afford Photoshop which gives an edge to making graphics. How many 10 rated skin

Sounds like your having a time. I had trouble with margins at first but after awhile it becomes easier. The margins and content margins are two different animals. The margin specifies the graphic margin. If you have a graphic that has three tiles of green on the right and three tiles of gray on the left, the margin would be left 3 and right 3. the remaining graphic is stretched or tiled depending on the setting.
