Feature Requests in Start8 Stardock Forums

It looks very nice and appears to fill exactly the need me and my friends saw. One major problem with hotspotting the start screen is that it and the search function block the entire screen, preventing you from seeing, say, a webpage telling you to type in a particular command. All the arguments I'm seeing in favor of C++/Angelscript appear to be oriented toward making things easier on proficient programmers rather than making it reasonably easy for a non-programmer to pick up. Not liking those arguments.

Land reluctant to change from decayed to bountiful in WOM Support Elemental Forums

v 1.1 I think this is a bug, but it may not be. When you capture a city from an empire opponent (you are kingdom), the land doesn't change to match the new holder. I thought this might be a virtue of it being a fundamentally decayed city and that you'd have to cast some kind of spell to "heal" it, but I can't find said spell. If I quit the game and restart it, the land automagically changes to its kingdom "healed" state. That tells me something's not triggering

Skillet, I don't actually disagree with you. There is a place for skinning, but it has to work and it has to surpass the look and feel of Windows 7. Far too many skins get close to equalling the quality of 7, but that's not enough to pry the cash out of my hands. I need to be impressed. That's a tall order and why I think functional changes to the UI are the way forward. I see an untapped market for a personally customized UI that works the way *you* want it to,

Yes, actually. I think that's exactly what I'm talking about. The design of the "themes" available with Objectbar would have to have a decent jump in consistency and quality and SD should promote and develop its feature-set, but yeah. Exactly what I'm talking about.

Reading through the material, may I give another perspective? I subscribe to ODesktop, but haven't been using any skins in months. Aero Glass is just too nice, clean, and useful and the skins on offer from Wincustomize aren't good enough for me to try out. If you can't wow me by creating something usable and at least as clean as glass, I'm less inclined to try it. I tried gussing up my GUI with Christmas stuff last year and half the skins are pretty lacking. Som

Google Chrome is the fastest browser on the market (not just for initial load, but javascript speed, rendering, extensions, etc.). Of course it was rubbish. To use another British term, I was being cheeky to get my point across: that the poster couched his opinion as settled fact and I disapproved.
