Just so you know... when you'll notice a Father Christmas sitting on a chair in the local mall, it might have never crossed your mind that is't a hard and dangerous job of many people that leads to these short moments of joy and happiness that you and your children experience.

If you're not interested in the techincal details but rather just want the working program, You can just get it HERE A friend of mine has recently asked if it's possible to write a console .net application to make a thumbnail of a website. The task is pretty trivial with Windows forms actually. But him being the Linux guy and all... I decided to pick up the challenge :) An interesting use case. In winFo

I believe the problems has been taken care of. There should be a new version of SkinStudio on SDC tomorrow. Please mail me at: adam AT stardock DOT com if you still have the problems with the new version.

I can confirm the problem with the slow opening which indeed is a bug that was introduced in the last build, other than this I cannot really reproduce the crasheds here. I'll keep trying though. Also the SkinStudio not being skinned is not a problem with it itself. It's WB that's painting those. so it looks like it gets corrupted somewhere. Can you check if it's skin specific or if it happens with any skin for you. Often problems like that tend to be related to some skins errors like

there were no changes in SkinStudio recently that would warrant this kind of behaviour. The problem you are describing happened to me sometimes when I was using firefox which seems to be leaking like there was no tomorrow but since I switched to Opera all my resource problems have stopped. Can you tell me if you're running Firefox on par with SkinStudio? Also thanks for reporting the depraciates in the default skins. I'll correct the problem and we should have a new build as so

Actually icon is a compound file. You cannot say an icon is in a given format, be it 32x32, or 16x16 unless you deleted all the other formats. The icon always saves in all formats you have included, what you have a problem with is the way Explorer or perhaos some other apps display them (that may include IconDeveloper's file open dialog). Don't get misled with a dialog showing only one icon as they don't necessarily have to choose to show you the format you would expect. If you use the icon in D

I wonder if I could get the skin to test it? Is this a problem with any other skin with alpha blended frames as well? If that's the only skin it's happening with , please send it to adam AT stardock. DOT com.

The problem was actually that the user had to define extension manually for ID to recognize what format you wanted to export it to. This feature (auto adding the extension based on the drop down with formats) is fixed in 1.3 currently on OD.

The abilityhas not actually been removed. There still is the ability to save 128x128 format icons as well as icons of any given size. It's simply that 128x128 icons are no longer considered standard formats and are not pre-defined. This has been changes since we are preparing ID for Vista and on Vista you would rather have a 256x256 PNG compressed icons that are then scaled down, rather than define every single possible icon size. You can still add any custom for

If Stardock gave WindowBlinds version names like Microsoft did with XP and its successor, WindowBlinds 5 would probably be called "WindowBlinds Translucent" or "WindowBlinds See-Through" or... oh no... it can't be... or can it (?) "WindowBlinds Vista"! In the first part I've explained the most noticeable changes you will see in a new WindowBlinds 5 skin but to be honest it went all crazy about translucent

One of the coolest features of WindowBlinds 5 is the possibility to define a translucent frames in your skin. This means a lot of things and a lot of new possibilities. Your windows can drop shadows, glow but most of all you don't have to look at those jaggies if your skin features rounded corners in them. The level of excitement can probably be shown by the fact that it does not have even shown in the public beta, yet it already has artist

unfortunately I do not know the answer to your problem with PSP and that's why the feature is there in the first place. You do NOT have to use TGA any longer with your image editor. SkinStudio will convert them back ant forth into a PNG file. I'm using it with Photoshop Elements 2 on a daily basis and it really does its job.

I find a lot of users having problems with how fonts are defined in a WindowBlinds skin. It's quite simple once you understand it how it's done. WindowBlinds bases on the premise that most of the skins use just a small number of font variants but use them in a number of places, meaning that one font setting will be used in a number of places like a push button, a tab, a status bar. A font setting in SkinStudio is called "font preset" and is a
