Though, with the version 3.9.6 build 790, it is not possible to define a color in the section Menus->Menu- Hilighted background (XP Only) and have it as it was expected, it gives random colors when the skin is applied. For example I define White and gives me Yellow. From the description it sounds like you have the feral version

What operating system do you have? What is the exact build of Skinstudio you are using? What do you find particularly useleless about the Attributes editor? If it's the 3.0 then the build is fairly old, I'd rather ask you to switch to the latest beta of SKS 3.9x avaialble for public. <img src="http://image

I've recently exposed one of our users to IconDeveloper a, new application made by splitting icon tools we initially planned to put in SkinStudio. The whole idea behind IconDeveloper is to "Give the Caesar what Caesar's and give God what's God's". IconDeveloper makes a quite untypical icon creation tool. It does not aspire to be a fully blown standalone drawing program, instead, as SkinStudio, it uses a third party image editor to edit the images. What I've heard from this user has the potential

Brimo, this is already available for ObjectDesktop subscribers, there will be a new Beta release for registered users today or tomorrow, so if you have purchased SkinStudio before you will be able to play with it too. This feature together with the other cool features like recoloring Winamp anod other skins (sometimes not even supported by skinstudio - like Sysmetrix) will NOT be available in the Free version of SkinStudio. Although the free version will come with the demo of how it wor

Very important: Recoloring skins does not change the original author's copyright, nor does it make such skin yours. If you recolor a skin it icon that has not been made by yourself you may not upload or share a recolored skin without the original author's permission. Ok, so I'm in the subject of recoloring for quite some time now. I've written a few routines to recolor skins SkinStudio can edit and a few for icons (which it can now edit too), then I thought " Heck w

So you have that cool skin you've always dreamed about. It's smooth, it's great, it's beautifull, and it absolutely does not come along with your favorite icon package. Damnit! You look at the skin, then you look at the icon package... can't decide which one you should get rid of? No problem any longer. Match your icon package go smothly with your skin. As you will see, my skin of choice for now is dark oliv

I plan to make some more SkinStudio tutorials so that SkinStudio users can browse the blog to look for some insight into more advanced functions or those that are more or less hidden or easilly missed. Well, since Brad created this cool icon tutorial I thought i may as well link it from here to make it the SkinStudio hub ;)

A few days back I found that nice Visual Style. Really easy on eyes - perfect for coding - titlebar not to high - not too many distractions. So i ran it through Skinstudio, added a few mods to make it the nice place to look and shown it to Pas (Snidely Whiplash). He's made a couple of mods himself and I wanted to have them in my skin. But my skin was USF (yes you can apply USF skins to WindowBlinds with Skinstudio) and his was WindowBlinds. But the image format is the same, so i could just copy

scratch_pentagon, by the nature of how it works with icons - it automatically creates PNG images for every frame). Sysmetrix, yes you can, qrayg, i'll see what I can do. Where can I get Icons for the OSX? I don't supose you would know any docs on the format, would you? Thanks for the kind words everyone!

It may be that PSP associated with the other action - not "Shell Edit" but "Shell Open", so try to go to "Customize" and move the "Shell Open" to the top in the list. If it's not it you may always add the PSP to the list by explicitly adding the exe. Click the "Add" button and browse for the PSP exe file. Move the newly added item to the top to make it the default editor. whatever is on top of that list is called as the default editor on double click, or when you click the "Edit" button.

You could think bitmaps stretching is easy with VCL in Delphi? Well... it is... almost... when it does not involve 32 bit bitmaps (those bitmaps with per-pixel alpha channel). I've spent a few hours looking for a routine for speedy resizing of such bitmaps (but a routine that woudl not loos the alpha channel. Maybe it can be done somehow with WinAPI, but I have not managed to find a way. Besides - it would most probably not woth on DOS derived Windows (Win 9x).

Citizen LStatie, I have not changed a bit of that code, this must have coincided with some other change on your system. That's not really much it does while it applies a skin, it simply send a message to WB to reload. Exactly the same thing that WB config dialog does, AFAIK.

The current undo is a simple 1 level undo for the "code" tab. Right now I'm deep inside the USF coding and I cannot really think about it until before the release of 4.0, but i will add it to the todo "list to consider". The major paint is how deep it goes which means that it will require a massive rework on the current engine, and the memory requirements will jump up considerably too. and probably changing anything in "code" tab would have to reset the "undo" history, as i'm not really awar
