It really is a shame those few have switched allowing the terrorists to accomplish something of that magnitude. I agree some of them did that in grief after loosing their relatives and friends, but that surely does not explain the total number of people that switched their view. Mind that it is not more or less than: Al-Queida replaced Spanish government! Sorry but this seems very naive to punish the government for defending its people from those ruthless people.

I'd say Europeans are not getting it, despite Polish government support for the US invasion in Iraq well over 90% of the society oposed it in the fear of retaliation. Actually what I hear all around here is that Poland and Itally will be next. UK is well guarded, but Poland has 7 neighbours, some of them can hardly be labeled as "Western civilization" types, so actually people here are getting paranoid. "See, I told you! We're next!" paranoid and "what were they (govt) thinking when they were se

Gui Olympics are about to begin. I get a lot of requests from skin authors regarding various problems with their skins and asking various questions ranging from quite basic up to such that requires quite some research to answer them. So I decided to put all the documents that could help you create a great skin in one place. There is a great article about making skins out there. I strongly encourage every skinner, both

I do not see the "exact" match Vix, unless you want to compare it to Outlook Express and just about every news reader on Earth. The basic layout is a bit similar, but that's about it. But then again, almost EVERY feed reader has that layout.

I do not opose the gay marriage. I am even keen toward their relationships having all the social benefits that heterosexual marriages do, but calling it marriage is a beginning of an unprecedented process. The only issue I have with gay mariages is that at one point they'll demand to be equal to real mariages on a higher level and start to raise children, or even demand adoption rights. Perhaps the children from their relationship will be just as normal as the rest of the kids but it's

Most of the effort in the past week went to polishing BlogNavigator and learning Visual C++. Some weekend and after hours work on SkinStudio. It's funny that writing apps for the same system can have so different approach to very basic things. Delphi (I think generally every language using VCL) does a very good job in visualizing the GUI. In Delphi you may do a very complex system and yet never even bother about what a message in Windows do. You just highlight an element in the gui y

It's been a while since I last blogged, so the list will be quite extensive. I've not been able to do as much as I would like because of the 2 system collapses (over 2 days lost) and because of my previous blog called Susie ;). Since my wife seems to be regaining her strength, the process involved quite a few stitches for her, I should be fully back on track now. I intend to finally start switching to Visual Studio and to learn MFC since Monday. Unless there is some serious problem with the cur

18th of Fedruary 2004 at 0:10 A.M. our family has been enriched with yet another member. By the time she entered our realm, Zuzanna (Susie) Najmanowicz weighted 3400 grams and was 54 centimeters tall. I wonder if tall is a right word here, long perhaps, she won't be standing any time soon ;). The only trouble I'm into now is the Women/Men ratio for our family now beeing up to 3/1! Having spent 2 nights at home we already cannot imagine living without her a

This will only be true if you attempted to recolor the skin you were editing. the Free edition of SkinStudio does not allow for recoloring the skin and the recoloring (if attempted) needs to be applied before saving - resulting in a deadlock. I'll have it fixed in the next free version, in the mean time just go to "Coloring" tab and make sure it's reset (you may want to actually press the "Resset" button before saving). I've just downloaded the free version and, other then this, I had n

Angie, that's why I said "on the same note", technically we'll be working on one more day on March ;) look at the bright side, we'll be getting older one day later every four years! I just hope my daughter won't be born 29th of Feb! Though it probably would have some bright sides too ;) - like getting older in the quarter of the rate of other people ;)

BlogNavigator BlogNavigator_full.zip 2004.02.10 (0.1.0 Build 83 - Internal) - parsing of dc:date (RDF format - not sure how well formalized it is) to existing pubDate format (formalized with RFC 822). - added categories "dc:subject" + ability to show them in the list + sorting by categories. - the items in the "currently selected channel/group/folder" are now automatically preloaded

I notoriously keep forgetting to blog - even though the report the work seems to move smoothly it may create some false impressions. Fortunately I'm better at keeping changelogs then to blog. the usual links: http://www.skinstudio.net/temp/BlogNavigator_full.zip And new Skinstudio Pro: http://www.skinstudio.net/temp/sks_pro.zip Blog Navigator - getting ready for public beta I think we;re getting ready for the beta finally, the build is getting

Thanks for the kind words, we really appreciate! Now let's solve some problems: MontyXP it just does. When you convert make sure you go to "options", then in the "parameters" tab select as the target format one of the WindowBlinds visual styles (first one is USF, second one is UIS1, third one is UIS2). Otherwise it converts dto USF and then yes, it does USF->UIS conversion one style at a time. three_4me - it's WindowBlinds glitch, not conversion. It will

It was NOT because of Mainboard makers, it was solely because of Price of rambus and it's lacks (the necessity to buy in pairs, the heat, the latency times AND THE PRICE AGAIN!). Some old applications tent to be slower on Rambus. Intel said it will change once apps will be optimized for other way of using memory. It has never became. Itanium partially dubes Rambus'es flaws. Poor IA-32 support, very high cost of applince (but of course it's a server chip). Apart from HP and Compaq i've n

On friday I've been able to make the reader look bareable and put virtually the toolbar and popup menu options into the main menu. The preferences looks quite nice now (the proxy still needs to be implemented, but at least now it has a gui to put the settings into). I've been able to put some nice abstraction into the framework. It became much more flexible and it will be needed for me to implement the items grouping i mentioned yesterday. Actually at this level of abstraction
