As stated yesterday, today was the GUI day. I'm trying to put things in place so users can actually start using it, and so that it actually had some functionality exhibited. - I've added some menu items to features referenced only in the toolbars so far. The menus are filling quite fast - I must be carefull not to overload them or it will look as crowded like some other readers (with functionality almost noone uses). - also good part of the day I've been re-writing the control fo

I've finished the "Web Search Folders" today. Those criters are really awesome. I've found some cool articles by looking for "Stardock" on FeedSter and DailyPop. Check out this cool review of Keyboard Launchpad This feature works nicer then i initially thought. I've made it so that it may look for a number of words on any number of rss search engines (now hardcoded and o

I'm not sure what do you mean by: "The reader itself could use a Home page RSS feed (you have the home page as a basket in the reader)." And the aesthetics is not Delphi, but my fault. The FeedDaemon appears to be written in Delphi as well, yet it doesn't suck ;). I will make it look much nicer but so far i tried to not ownerdraw anything that i didnt have (TreeView and the Channel items grid are obvious exceptions).

I'll try to work on the aesthetic. I really didn't focus on the gui much yet, I only just made the tree view looking nicely. The whole gui so far is merely something I need to exhibit the features. I've got some really cool things implemented now I'll write in my today's blog. But as for now I'm slowly getting out of cool ideas for functionality to implement and will unfortunately ;) have to focus on prettying the UI and making it consistent. I recognize the strong need for that - I cry

Right now the Free version can do any size for 14 days, but after then, true, you're limited to 32x32 as the largest format size. Still some (if not most) users does not really need their iconas to be larger.

Yesterday I've virtually managed to implement (but a couple of quirks) the search folders I've promissed, read mu yesterday's report for more details on the specifics. The only problem is that the search folders does not seem to recover ideally from the restart of the reader - I'll look into that today. I've also added a feature to SkinStudio that should serve as an ultimate sollution for WB problems with long filenames. What it does is revert all the image filenames to defaults + a sho

Quite a week. I think I'm pretty finished with the HyperConvert. and now I'm all back on the RSS. What I'm doing today is The "Search Folders" it's something in shape of MS Outlook 2003 "Search Folders" where you can specify a various criteria for such entity and it will show e.g. "All emails from my dog in which he says 'bone' ". So such folder will basically plug into the main framework ad wait for items passigN through it which meets its criteria. Then when it encounters

danillOc, only if you own Photoshop 7 as well and you know where and how to do it. and even if there is another solution to the problem for Photoshop, mind that Photoshop was virtually the only editor for 32-bit TGA's (hadling them properly) not just one of many (not sure if a variation of Paint Shop Pro couldn't do it), now even Adobe has deserted skinners!

I had a dream... that WB once supported PNG files. Some time ago I was thinking and consulted our users on Wincustomize messagebards about aiding WB to create 32 bit translucent images. Almost everyone voted for PNG. But WB does not support them and for memory preservation reasons it will not. the basic problem is that TGA support sucks badly in image editors. The only editor that could do it properly was Photoshop. Yes

There should be a refined version - not breaking your icons images in explorer in a day or two. Marten Langbraten - try switching (Alt+Tab) to another program then (Alt+Tab) back. if there was a modal dialog that popped down below the main window it should show up when you switch back. mverzella - you chould try some fine tuning by selecting/experimenting with dithering and resampling options while creating subimages. I'm sure you can create a perfect XP i

Which posts on thew newsgroups are we talking about? I try to visit/answer those newsgroups on the daily basis. Do, I you mean the 98 issues? I think I've addressed most of the issues, just didn't have the time to reply yet

if you open msstyles imported into your windows folder (when you actually used them then they must be there) just select File->Open from the menu and expand the "Windows XP Visual Styles" you should find them there. but skinstudio may open an msstyle anywhere onyour disk. to do that just press the "Import VS" button in Skin Navigator it's the SkinStudio's "File->Open" dialog. Then Browse for the *.msstyles file you want to convert and open it. Then it everything should be pretty straightforward.

EventHorizon, I have just verified that indeed it has expired. We we will have an update for it in a while. In the mean time there are 2 solutions: push back the system clock by a month or so when you use it or consider buying a full version which never expires even in beta (if that's a sollution).

Adam, this new version has an interesting new feature. Apply skin, causes a reboot. Hmm... i have not touched this code recently. Are you sure it's not the skin/WB fault? Skinstudio does really nothing magical there - set a skin in a registry for WB and ask WB to kindly reload the skin. I'd rather suspect a problem with the skin. Do
