On the kingdom info screen you get vital statistics of the other factions without ever having met them. You know there tech levels, their money, resources, who they know, etc. All well and good to have a way to earn that information, but in a strategy game just giving that information out really defeats the purpose of the game. The game needs at least some form of espionage system. If just something basic like from galactic civilizations 1. Just giving away this information though eithe

Maybe its not the right thread, but a big issue I have is that the kingdom information screen gives you all the vital information of all the opposing groups even if you haven't met them. Its one thing to incorporate a workable espionage system, even if a relatively basic one (put money into "spies" and info slowly revealed over time like in Galactic Civilizations 1). But just giving all that information negates some basic challenge in a strategy style game. You guys do great work with the ide

My problem is with the kingdom report panel. Why is it that you can sift through information on your rivals, seeing all their stats from how much of each type of resource they have, to whom they met, what techs they have etc, without ever having even met them? This ruins the game frankly. You can simply look at the page and have a good idea of whom can do what and you dont have to do anything. If the programing and usability of a complicated espionage system is too hard for the AI to use, the

Well, thanks for the info. I love the game, just a bummer if Stardock doesnt at least make an improvement optional in any updates they do. [e digicons]o_O[/e]

Are there any mods out there that improve the fog of war? On the main map, if a race thats already been encountered builds a starbase on a resource I can automatically see the base even though I have no ships nearby to observe. I am not sure if this part of the game is hard coded or not, but if anyone has any info on a way to make the fog better I'd greatly appreciate it [e digicons]:P[/e]

I only recently started playing TA and I've noticed that I get information on what other races are building, how long it will take, what they are researching, their ships are seen on the map...pretty much everything about them and every move they make is available for me to see without one of my own ships nearby to observe, without even a dime being spent on espoinage, and frankly its just too easy this way. I've blind exploration on, not sure if its related or not, but is there anyway

One thing I think would nice to have in GC 2 is more detail on your intelligence services. In GC1 you just select a race and through money at it, after so many turns you get a look at some stats of the race. and destablization is similiar. there just isn't enough visible effect. I don't mean to go over board with options that blow things way out of control, (ie Superpower) but where you have a total "intelligence rating" that is produced by "spy academies" or somethi

Does the GIA come into play at all? I have never seen the option to use it. my suggestion is why not make it possible to ask aliens in the foreign policy screen to enact trade embargoes on other races that you are opposed to. bring them down economically...in reverse

I normally take the war party, +50% hit points for ships. Then I take a mix of economic, weapons and reseach bonuses. Makes for a real good combo of high powered ships and makes them affordable

pardon my ignorance, but what is the "beta" version of AP? is this the actual Ap that is for sale on stardock or is this like a test version that you buy, and then when actual exspansion comes out this month, you can just download that onto the file you already have from the beta?
