Craig, you already know that I got the issues resolved! It turned out to be a bad install of Paint Shop Pro. Once I re-installed it, all my issues disappeared! Thank God!

Craig, when the skin transparency was set to default, is when the skin was so dang transparent! I used the slider in the transparency and blur section of WB Config.

I am trying to make my first Vista blind, and have run into some problems right out of the gate: 1. I have issues with making pngs in paint shop pro 8. When I save my images as pngs, the transparency shows up in the preview window during the save, but when I go open the image later, I get an image with a white background. The image opens properly in Photoshop though. And, all of the images I made before getting Vista show up with a white background in Pain
Should a skin suitable for a girl always be pink? I dunno... is that what the chicks want? pink - personally i hate that colour and couldnt bring myself to skin with it.
I personally hate pink too...and I am a female(I made a pink skin one time, though)! I make skins that are predominently "feminine" in my way of thinking. They don't have a lot of "heavy" stuff on them, and most of my blinds are softer colors...muted also at times.

Well, I disabled UAC...no problems so far! I do not have the "My" folders....I have Vista, 32 bit, with SP1. Maybe they made changes since the original release. I haven't installed any of the Stardock stuff yet on this pc. I want to make sure I have Vista running good, before I add that stuff. So, I am looking at the original Vista skin....at least it is not as bad as the Luna crap of XP. Patience is not one of my virtues....I want things to wor

Thank you guys! My son said NOT to disable UAC, despite me arguing with him that it is a pain in the butt! But, I can't stand this anymore....so, I will turn the dang thing off! As far as folders....I did a clean install (reformatted my hard drive and started from scratch), so I don't have any of the "My" folders. BTW, I still have XP on my laptop, so I will still be doing XP skins. My laptop is not powerful enough for Vista.

My son got me Vista for Christmas....I really didn't want it, but he insisted I needed it so that I could make blinds for Vista. Ughhhh.... I am going nuts over this UAC stuff. Every time I try to open a folder, I keep getting "Access Denied" messages. Thiis is nuts! I am signed on as administrator, so I don't know what the deal is. Is there info anywhere on how to make friends with Vista? If this keeps up, I'm gonna get rid of Vista and go back t

Jymmy, I am totally with you about the lack of more feminine-type skins. That is why I started skinning blinds. There have been some issues with accessing skinner's personal pages over the past few days. Here is the direct link to my home page: http://jazzymjr.wincustomize.com/ . If that doesn't work, try the following: Click on my user name in this box, select to view user's profile. When that

Jim, I don't have any problem with Right Click. I just right click on the icon on the system tray, then click on Edit Desktop Menu. When the window pops up, I click on skins, then scroll to the bottom and select Use Windowblinds Skin. What version are you using? I am using version 1.25.
Hi jazzy, are you using SS5? I can't recall seeing any "content margin" references in SS6, I think they are all referred to as "text" adjustment settings???
Wimpy, yes, i am using SKS 5. Sorry about that. I don't know my way around SKS 6. Since I don't have Vista, I haven't felt the need to use SKS 6. I hope you are able to figure out the text settings.

A friend of mine had the same problem. I replaced his power supply and everything is fine...I replaced the power supply with one that was a higher wattage. You might try that if you haven't already done so.

Hi AVMAN....just found the thread! I'm working on a blind...the XP version is done. Now I am gonna try to make a Vista version...that will be interesting to say the least! Don't know if it is gonna work or not. Stay tuned!

No, I don't think it is too early for Thanksgiving stuff. I usually upload my Christmas stuff by the end of November...but that is my preference, cause I LOVE Christmas stuff. [e digicons]|-)[/e]
I guess it actually hasn't crashed but needing to shut down IE7 via task manager in order to unfreeze.
Same thing here. I can usually get on the front page relatively fast, but most times, when I try to access either a gallery or the forums, the browser hangs and then stops responding...and I have to CAD out to close my browser. I NEVER have these problems on any other site I visit. I, like a number of people here, strongly feel it is a site is

I use photoshop for making my images, and then use Paint Shop Pro for the afterwork on them...like sizing, color, etc. Paint Shop Pro is far cheaper than photoshop. I think most of us skinners use more than one graphics program for our blinds, etc.

Xiandi, I don't use SKS 6, just SKS 5, so I can't help you there. But, how I solve the issue of getting rid of all the "junk" files in my blinds is that when making a blind, I use a "working title", such as a letter or a number. When the blind is completely finished and I am satisfied with it, then I do a "Save As", and re-name the file the real title. It is amazing...my final blind is usually cut in half, size-wise!
