I suppose a skin made for 7 would work on Vista, provided you skinned the Vista Specific things; for example, the start panel log off buttons...they are different for Vista. Personally, I only skin for OS's I have, which are Windows 7 and XP. And that is a pain in the butt, because I wind up half the time having to make separate start panels, taskbars, tree nodes, systray arrows, start panel arrows, etc., for each OS. I have Windows 7 on my desktop, and XP on my laptop.&nbsp

Editing author name on Windowblind in Skinning WinCustomize Forums

I am working on a fall blind, and I used one of my very old blinds (circa 2005!) as the template. Well, I have the author name as my full given name, followed by my nick on that blind. I tried changing it in SKS...it changes on the property sheet, but not on the preview in the Windowblinds config window. How do I do this with SKS 7? I knew how to do it in SKS 5 by editing the SKS ini file. But, I am a loss this time. Anyone have any ideas how to do this?

Are you referring to the taskbar...the bar that has the icons of all your open programs and the system clock? If you are referring to it, right click the bar and make sure Lock the Taskbar is NOT checked, then just drag the bar over to the left side of your window.

Doc...I was referring to my skin only as far as taskbar size goes. Actually, it would apply to all of my skins. I make the default size of all my taskbars 30 px high, the smallest that they can be for the OS. I was not speaking about the other skins, as I do not know what their taskbar sizes are.

That is the Jump List in Windows 7. Here is where you can find it in SKS 7: Startmenu and Taskbar > Start Menu > Jump Lists. There are three images for that area, and each of those images has a text tab where you can change the color of text.

I think that the text color for the taskbar buttons can only be changed in Skin Studio. Likewise for the IE pulldown menus...with IE 8, however, you cannot actually change any of the colors or skin that menu....it is not possible at this time. The text color for the text in the drop down IE menu(from the menu bar at the top of the window, not the one that is next to the IE tabs) is derived from the start panel pop up menu, and that can only be changed through Skin Studio. The font itself is your system font...whatever that is set at. And, the font color is the color of your systen font, that is set via the system colors module. The only way to change the font in the address bar is to change the system font.

Open the Windowblinds config window. Click on Settings at the top toolbar. Click on Advanced Settings. Make sure you do not have "I want to use Aero window frames but keep the rest of the skin" checked. If it is checked, un-check it and re-apply the skin.

You have to change the font and font color for the mouseover state in the code editor tab...the mouseover stuff is actually the disabled stuff in the code editor!
