Thank you all for your responses. I know this will help Linda to know how much Ed was loved here. I plan on printing these responses out and giving them to Linda when I go over to the house later today.

With a very heavy heart, Ed's family has requested that I share with you that Ed (angus1949) passed away last Friday, May 21, 2010. He is now, finally, at peace. His wife, Linda, and their daughters request that you respect their privacy and give them time. There is going to be a small family memorial for Ed at his home tomorrow evening...I have been invited and plan to attend. My heart is so heavy....Ed was my best friend. We shared joy, laughter, pain, a
If you use Firefox jazzymjr you can right click on the button and do a save as. That function does not work in Internet Explorer though, and I don't think it has anything to do with the way WinCustomize is set up, I think it is just IE itself that is the problem.
That is strange, I have always been able to do a right click "save as" until I started using the new site (When I had no choice but to use it). And I have IE 8 with Windows 7. The last file I downl

Is there any way that we can get the option back to do a "save as" when we right click a download button on a skin? I prefer to have a "hard copy" of skins I use, and, also, I always do another check on files before I open them for virus's, etc. To me, if this option is not going to be available again, I probably will no longer download anything from the site. This is not a threat...please don't read that into it. It is just that I am one of those people that want to m

For the blue vertical line in the left pane: Edit Explorer/IE Shell Parts > Explorer and IE > Explorer Windows > Favorite Links Background. The line is part of that image. For the other vertical lines (in the right columns): Edit Explorer/IE Shell Parts > Explorer and IE > Explorer Windows > ListView > Vertical line. I'm not sure about the borderline, but I think it is in the skin colors section: Change Skin Colors > Show me

I have Windows 7, 32 bit. I have Paint Shop Pro 8 and Paint Shop Pro X2 and they both work on my machine just fine. I use version 8 most of the time for skinning, because that is what I have had for years. I got X2 for Christmas and am still figuring out how to use it...it is very different from version 8. I have WB7 version 7.01, build 247. Was the update you downloaded a beta version? I do not install ANY beta versions of any software because more times t

Boopish had alerted me yesterday that one of my blinds was there...I went to the site, and sure enough, Amphitrite was there. When I clicked on the contact link to tell them to remove my blind, I picked up a nasty piece of something, but, fortunately, my anti-virus software caught it and removed it immediately. Anyway, I sent the note, and I received a reply fairly quickly. He said he got the stuff from "somewhere" over a year ago, but couldn't remember where, so h

I have never made my XP sizing bar a transparent image. I always do a traditional bmp image, usually a 3px high edge. The sizing bar disappears anyway when you lock the taskbar. I also have found that with SKS 7, that you can't make the system tray completely transparent either...you have to have at least a 1 by 1 pixel image/color in it.

As far as Windows 7 itself goes....I totally love it! Only issues I had were a couple of my games have to be run in XP mode...but that really is not an issue for me. The OS runs very smoothly, and doesn't hog resources like Vista did! I have a six year old PC, that just has an Intel P4 CPU, and just 1.5 GB RAM. Vista did not like it, and my pc would always crash on me when I was doing graphics stuff. It behaves very well, and I even will have as many as th
Thank you for your reply! Isn't SkinStudio simply an editor for WindowBlinds though? I guess my question is really "Can a WB7 skin/theme change the width of the pinned app icons?"
The Windowblinds are made in Skin Studio, piece by piece. If you are making the Windowblind, you can change the width of the button. All Windowblinds can do is have you choose either small or large icons.&nbs
I will continue to make my XP versions in SKS 5 just as long as is possible. Mostly because of the nromalize filenames feature and the inteface navigation is infinitely more friendly.
Ditto here too.

From my experience, you have to make separate substyles for XP and Vista/Windows 7. I find that the start menu has to be significantly bigger for Vista and 7 than for XP. And also, the width of the right and left panels in the start menu have to be different as well. Also, the start menu logoff images are different in each OS. What I do is make the XP skin in SKS 5, then import it into SKS 7, make a new substyle for Windows 7, and then make the changes/additions in t
I could swear there was a specific entry in either skin personality in the code or the layout/etc section. But both those tricks will work just as well.
You could remove the icon in SKS 5....but we can no longer do it in SKS 7. As soon as we got the ability to skin Vista and Windows 7, that was no longer available. So, we just have to monkey with the horizantal text position settings.
The only way you might remove the titlebar text is by making the text color exactly the same as the titlebar background and setting the font size to like -1. You might have to fool with it a bit to get it to work, moving the text margins, etc., but it will work.
That's what I do to get rid of the name on the start menu in XP, when letting the name show screws up the look of the start menu....lol. Thank God, I don't have to worry about that with Windows 7!

If you are referring to the system icon, it cannot be deleted per se in SKS 7, but you can set the horizantal text shift for it to somewhere between -(minus) 30 and -(minus) 60. I usually wind up setting up mine to -60 to make sure it is completely off screen. I don't know what to tell you about the titlebar text. To me, the text is needed so that you know what window you have open.
Just to give a bit of perspective (from a skinners POV) A Vista skin and a Win7 skin are nearly identical. The main differences are the extra sections on Win 7. In man hours, an Xp substyle can take up to 2 days to do (from a finished vista skin), Where a Win7 substyle will take a couple of hours! Geez....this is bizaare! I got fed up and just re-installed Flash Player 10, re-booted, and attempted to upload the blind again, using the 1st link provided above....and, it worked! It wouldn't upload with 10 before, it wouldn't upload with 9, but now it works with 10???? [e digicons]:S[/e] Just for information, I am running Windows 7, 32 bit, and IE 8.
