Well, hey, Gideon, don't worry, we elected quite a few 'family friendly' guys who happen to control the majority of all three branches of government - don't worry, they'll think of something.... *Deference begins hacking huge chunks of vomit into nearby waste receptecle, tears leap from his eyes with each violent heave...*

Personally, I think that anyone who is influenced by the statements of any actor is in fact stupid. Oh dear God, let's not start in on Ronnie... For the same reason I don't intend to see the Turkish film "Valley of the Wolves". If people want to make propaganda, fine, so be it. But I don't intend to watch it. - Gideon Why and how is it propaganda Gideon? You don't have to reply unless you've g
I appreciate Clooney's bringing the compelling story to the big screen. While I have NO desire to see "Syriana". - Gideon Any particular reason why? The film was great and in the same vein as Traffic - also quite good. I'm not certain what taste you have in film. I like Jon Stewart, but not even his presence is enough to make me want to watch the self-congratulatory Oscar crowd.
Yep, Tova, I'm just going to bite my tongue after reading this article.
She said quote "we (the usa) are going down the path to our destruction - if we do not get it back to the principles it was founded on, we are doomed" - ElindelWolf Politically, that's very correct, but I'm certain your Mum's intent was not speaking of policy, but rather, culturally and religiously. She said that our found fathers wanted this nation to be based on god. ElindelWolf I believe the founding
When it comes down to “go time”, do we accept the fact that those we call friends might not back us? - ElindelWolf Allies and Friends are two different categories of people. Friends might not always back us, and in doing so, sometimes we realize how much of a 'friend' they are. I take it you are disturbed with the performance of 'allies' whom you also claim as friends.
High praise, Moderateman, high praise. Thanks. I'm still working out the kinks, but perhaps some day soon I'll be able to write a fine thread regarding this topic in more detail. ...considering your youth way ahead of the learning curve. - Moderateman I've walked in many people's shoes and spent much time thinking...
Friend: Any animal one interacts with in one's life given the correct perspective (understanding) and opportunity. as with any mathmatical equation, the formula is true if the inverse of the statement is also correct So a non-friend, innately realizing the above statement true will abstain from any interaction with another to squelch the possibilities of both understanding and opportunity. For deference, I am 59 years old and have knocked aaround a bit, I know what friends are "TO ME" I will not argue what friends are to YOU, please show me the same respect., - Moderateman I speak boldly, but please don't misread it as disrespect for you or your opinion. I think a stronger argument for friendship can be made by a definition different then the one you offered (one I followed, myself, for years). I'll not make a
Feingold protecting us? He sold us out with his stupid campaign finance reform! - Dr. Guy And McCain didn't? I support campaign finance reform. The McCain-Feingold bill didn't sell us out, but it did leave a loophole open for groups like Swiftboat Veterans for Truth and MoveOn - I see those problems, but let's push for further reform and or amending.
Maybe my definition of friedns is different than yours or deferences. - Moderateman My DEFinition of friends is changing, and those I thought friends and those I thought non-friends are allways in flux to their varying degrees of support. So I've thrown away the old definition that you may be ascribing to at this moment Do you think you have real, as in will fly to your side in times of trouble? - Moderateman T
I just wanted to say that I really don't understand how finding a big boat would validate Christianity. It doesn't matter, and it misses the point, finding 'Noah's Ark' is a monumental find of extreme historical significance which could shed light on and correct our official belief of what the timeline of humanity is. Let's not limit 'Noah's Ark' to only religious impact(s).
Already done. From Missouri, the Show - Me State: Dear Senator Feingold, Don't be afraid to ask for accountability and ask them for the evidence proving the so-called Patriot Act actually protects us...
Little Whip is at the top of that list. My relationship with her involves far more than our interaction here on JU...we have had many, many conversations that JU has not been privy to. Texas Wahine Boy, would I like to have been a fly on the wall during those conversations. More than anything I think what was bothersome to LW (although I doubt Simon cares, lol) was the fact that people who had consistently been s
Man, and I was just starting to come to terms with Little Whip, too! I remember last year nipping at Brad during the run-up to election before I even knew he and Draginol were one and the same...but Mr. Wardell didn't 'go nuclear' on me so I suppose, though I've not seen the thread, this user asked for it in a big way. I'm certain you don't need support in your decision and that you possibly feel not only justified but perhaps even satisfied Draginol. I'll echo e
Hypocrite: One who says one thing and acts in a contradictorily. - moi Dang. I can't edit my remarks. The sentence should read: Hypocrite: One who says one thing and acts contradictorily.
The media formed the conclusion that the war was unjustified long ago & have been doing everything they can to make their case ever since, spectacularizing everything that supports their preformed opinions and ignoring most everything else. I'm sad that Mod has fallen victim to them. - Daiwa Possibly. However, the speculation that Iraq would fall into civil war doesn't necessitate an agenda. The mere fact that it is such a plausibilit
it's not "all of a sudden" this decision comes after years of thinking and watching The Muslims are nuts killing each other, we ned to let them work out their own problems. - Moderateman May I say, "Wow". It takes nuts, to openly change your mind and proclaim your stance particularly after your support for the Iraq war. Good job. Yes, I like the change of position you've made, but that's not the reason I say good job, it's because of this: A f
To me, such hypocrisy is just political desperation. - Bakerstreet Great plug.
Congratulations, Shadowar! *sniff* One of our own... *sniff* *sniff* ...finally made it!
We really need more facts on this - too bad the transfer occured behind closed doors - the MSM hasn't been much help either. What happened to transparency?
One of your more insightful blurbs, steve. Wish you had provided some links regarding the Reagan actions in the '80's..now I've got to look it up all by myself!
Absolutely the funniest pic I've seen in quite a while - thanks 'dave.

And thank you very much for finding the mission statement of the ACLU. I appreciate the posting because it illuminates the dialogue. - Singrdave My pleasure. I always like to add to the dialogue...particularly when it is so tolerably conducted.
