I don't think that's too much to ask. It might be though. When my mom found her birth mother, the birth mother almost had a nervous breakdown. It wasn't until over six months after the initial contact that she reached out to her. Just a thought.

Christine, you are being guarded! By the toothless trio! (JK!!!!) Guard away! I need as much protection as I can get!

Thank you! Your description is surprisingly accurate, although I don't switch positions so much, I just shut up if someone wants to disagree with me. All in the name of harmony. The year is 1974, I'll be thirty one.

I feel like I'm marking time, just existing minute to minute...waiting...waiting for some monumental decision that I feel just on the brink of my consciousness. I almost feel like I'm just using the guy I'm with, but to be fair, I would guess that he is using me just as much. To stay, or to leave, that is the question. But it's not a question that I want to think t

OK, I answered this before I read the other comments. I definately know about Natalee Holloway, but pressed to guess I'd only be able to wonder if the Taylor is that 20something black woman that went missing somewhere in the New England states - wasn't she pregnant too? And some people have made a case that Natalee got more coverage than that person because she was white.

I just saw Fahrenheit 911 and it was just about what I expected. My "suspension of disbelief" was stretched to its limits. But regarding this thread in a very loose manner, I have a question: Were those soldiers in the movie punished? At least administratively? I sure as hell hope so!

When my daughter had pink eye, she was terrified of drops too. I had her lay down and close her eyes, not scrunched up but just relaxed. Then I put two drops on the inner corner of her eye and had her open her eyes. The drops went right in and she wasn't very traumatized. Just a hint to try if you ever have to subject your little man to eye-drops.

NOW I know, NOW I understand…boots are better than tennis shoes because my feet are numb. Other than that the only consequence that might be bothersome is the ringing in my ears. Boots & Earplugs, that’s what I need to have. Yes, my friends, I just did nineteen and a half miles on a cute little Rebel. My first “ride” albeit a short one.

I dug out my heavier shoes and am wearing a sweater today. We're expecting frost tonight. I've noticed some of the sumacs bursting out in their red blazes. I don't mind fall, I guess, but it's what it foretells that gets me depressed. A good six months of winter. *sigh* Such is life in Minnesota.

I think that one day next week I'm going to go eat lunch with him, and see for myself just how they're treated and how long they have to eat. Great idea! I was thinking that if I were in this situation, I'd be picking up my daughter during the scheduled lunch hour and feeding her myself. And I'd almos

Hahaha, my boss is such a goof. He calls me and wants to review some agenda while he's driving...and he says, "Dammit, I'm going to have to get mad at you because my tailgate's down and that means I've lost a block." So then he pulls off on an exit and he's mad because it's one of those exits you can’t just pull off and then pull back onto the interstate.<

Being a mom is hard. Even if a child is perfect, a mom will find something to worry about. That's what we do. We anticipate and worry. I stayed at home with my first and worked with my second. Both ways worked. Work more on baby sign!!! Baby sign baby sign baby sign! I don't know about your particular situation, but I used baby sign with my little guy and we started when he was eight months old. Being able to communicate with him bef

My last comment was to yet ANOTHER article about that one word that I refuse to use in any way. I was raised to not even THINK that word, call it brainwashing or whatever, I am not unhappy that I am unable to use that word. That word has power. It's too late, that power can never be taken away nor diminished. It is power, as negative as it is. I don't

Just for the record, I find the title of your article offensive, and the l337 version of it even more so. It's almost like you're sticking your tongue out to see how far you can go. But whatever, free speech and all that right? Delete my comment if you like.

I agree with what a LOT of comments here, and I thank those that consider themselves atheists for helping to define what I have a hard time putting into words. I get most frustrated when I'm lumped into a large group, especially when there's negative connotations associated with the group. As a "quiet atheist" I would say that I am like many MANY atheists that comprise a "Silent Majority." Most atheists are not militant anti-theists. By i

I am an atheist. I like to say I am a "quiet atheist" because I mostly just don't want to get into any sort of debate about it. But no, I am most certainly not afraid of the concept of god. I just don't believe it. To me, being an atheist just means I have more internal resources available to dedicate to living a good life and taking care of the people close to me.
