10,000 Joys and 10,000 Sorrows, dharma....isn't that a buddhist thing? It's just an eloquent way of saying that we must learn to take the good with the bad.

I really don’t expect you to understand, as much as I wish you would, or could. I realize that I’m a tough one to follow at times, also that the gender difference make up for a part of the miscommunications. It is not even a slow dawning of the realization that what we have between us is what we have right now, that it is…what it will always be, never anything more.
Thank you for this Dharma. I am an ex-military spouse, and a long-time army brat. Dad is a retired E-7, my mom was in the army when she met and married my dad. Generations of my family, on all sides, have served, either active or married to active. I was present when the sergeant rank was pounded into my ex's collar bone and present when he popped them out. Eventually, I couldn't continue to do the military spouse thing; it is HARD and I am too selfish. Even so, I was d

Definately, especially: You tend to avoid conflict - you're more likely to share than rant.
Your Blog Should Be Blue Your blog is a peaceful, calming force in the blogosphere. You tend to avoid conflict - you're more likely to share than rant. From your social causes to cute pet photos, your life is a (mostly) open book. What Color Should Your Blog or Journal Be?
Whoa, way excited this morning. Went and took my motorcycle permit test. Passed 100%! (Reading the manual yesterday really helped.) Then went and got a helmet and gloves. Going to pick up a “training bike” tonight: a Honda Rebel 250. Then watch out world! Next week, or maybe the week after, my real bike arrives: a Yamaha Virago 1100. I ordered some chrome deca
Interesting Labor Day weekend. Played a night of poker. Fun game. Gets more fun after a couple of jello shots. Had my first motorcycle lesson. Dropped the bike right away, thank goodness I was wearing a sweatshirt or I’d have a nasty roadrash on my elbow. Got back up and spent the next twenty minutes doing figure eights in the parking lot
For me personally, throwing and breaking things makes it worse because then I feel like I've completely lost control. I feel bad that I've created a mess that I now have to clean up, and also I've usually broken something that while held no importance before I tossed it, now has became the Holy Grail in my mind and I BROKE IT! I'm jealous that it works for you!
I throw a splash of bleach in my dishwater...but no, I don't use cold water.

Me too.
He makes me want to be good. He quiets that restless what-if-the-grass-is-greener feeling that threatens to destroy me. He makes me realize that although he is replaceable, so am I. I can live without him, but I don't want to.
oh my god, I didn't even recognize that as you....
awwww! if not a happy one, at least a satisfying one.
ARRRRRGGG! A cliffhanger! What happened? Did you ever see Ryan again? Why did he leave you hanging like that? Did you ever fall in love again? I'll be waiting for the saga to continue.
From the get-go, the military sets itself up for this kind of debate. Who is responsible for who and to what extent? Beginning in basic training, soldiers are told what to do and when to do it. What to wear, hell, what to eat even. Pretty much all personal responsibility is removed. They're taught to trust their leaders implicitly. Then slowly they are given back responsibility, then not as slowly, given responsibility for other soldiers! The mi
I am SOO glad that I am completely removed from the military life now. It had been a rule of mine after my first marriage to never date a military guy again. I messed that up by bending the rules enough to date and marry a guy in the Guards. And that came around to bite me in the ass. Some people just aren't cut out to be military spouses, and I am one of them. I like flowers, and phone calls, and oh, yeah...a physical presence! Being a
Congrats! (Email me!)
Actually, it is not an original idea. It is how the Bene Tleilax actually live (Check out the Brian Herbert/Kevin Anderson House Trilogy which is a Prelude to the Dune 5 set by Frank Herbert). Your writing reminded me a bit of the Handmaid's Tale.
Ok, wait, I think I see your point, you're saying that embryos may someday become a harvestable commodity comparable to beef. I don't agree, but at least I understand your analogy now.
Tomorrow has not arrived, but it could happen. Of course it could...again, what's your point? Are you anti-abortion? And how does tying a non-reasoning bovine to the abortion issue help your position?
Wow, I must just be feeling controversial today...but I have to agree with Myrrander: Basically, the comments boil down to "I don't mind it if my friends do it, but I do mind it when other people do. Especially if I don't like them." I have been wondering if these "forum-bumps" are really neces
history This isn't history. It's an interesting hypothetical situation. It could be skewed in the other direction so that men are those that are unneeded. You could expand on this and write a riveting fictional novel. Although, I'm not entirely sure what your point is. I THINK you are an
