Okay, do they climb the mountain over yonder, or is it the valley down there? Wishing you all a great journey, and keep your wits about you!

This may be out of your price range, but this is what I am currently in the process of building (all ordered from NewEgg): CPU = Intel e6600 Core2 Duo (2.4 Ghz) processor MoBo = Intel DP965LT (does not support CrossFire, but I run only one video adapter) PSU = Antec Neo HE 550 Watt (meets the new v2.2 specifications and modular cables make for a clean & organized wiring system) Video Adapter = ATI X1950 XT (512 MB) PCIe (released next week) RAM = (2)
What I always heard was to avoid Dell because the important stuff to upgrade is proprietary so you pay through the nose to add memory or upgrade HW. I have the Inspiron 9300, which was built in March 2005. I have replaced the stock Pentium M 1.6 Ghz processor with a Pentium M 2.0 Ghz processor with no issues. I have also replace
Stardock is due to release ObjectBar 2.0 soon. If I understand correctly, there will be two parts to creating themes: 1 = the parts of the bar 2 = the skin created for the parts (buttons, backgrounds, etc.) It sounds like customizing the bar theme should be easier, and I would venture to say that compatibility with the current versions of Object Desktop programs (and Stardock programs) will be much better. Here is the article <a href="https://www.winc
With this tagging we could set our preferences to only show us skins that were made version 4+ or 5, etc. I think this would be a good feature as well. I would appreciate a skinning 101 section with articles and tu
Here is a mini tutorial I wrote some time ago (Object Desktop 2004) WWW Link Your first step is to install the "Stardock Central" program, which should prompt you for your name and serial number. It (Stardock Central installer) should access your current account information during this first installation and end with a dialog where the "Show pre-released versions" option is offered and selected. I recommend d
No problem. With any open windows minimized or closed, do the following: Right-click the taskbar > click "Properties" > select "Keep the taskbar on top of other windows" > click "Apply". That should sort it. Note - some DesktopX themes deselect the taskbar option by default, and the option is not reselected upon unloading DesktopX.
Not much change, I guess I just like the dock, wall, and icons. WB = DogmaX2a by brewman IP = Logika by Ian Black Dock icons are various icons by Ian Black, Havell, and Yangge. Wall is of course blue aurora with my Grateful Dead bolt sphere hidden behind "My Computer" window. <img src="http://images.st
Happy B-Day, Lantec. Wishing you the best.
Check the molex connector (24 pin) at the end of your main line. Most manufacturers have made it possible to disconnect the extra 4 pin connector so that you can separate it and then connect it to the 4 pin 12V on your MoBo (A.K.A. P4 connection).
Have you tried going to: "C:\WINDOWS\system32" and double-clicking the "wscript.exe" file? Note - if you have Windows set to hide extension of known file types, it will simply be "wscript". After double-clicking, change one of the options to activate the "Reset Defaults" button and then click the "Reset Defaults" button and apply. This should at least reset the Windows Script Host. The other thing you might try is to run a search for "*.js" files (without quotation mar
Both "Use Welcome Screen" and "Fast User Switching" must be enabled and applied in "Control Panel > User Accounts > Change the way users logon" to enable the Welcome screen for boot and resume functions. Note - if you have "Offline" files enabled, this automatically disables "Fast User Switching", which in turn disables the Welcome screen on resume.
For the same reason people trade in their cars every so often, for the same reason we buy a new TV every few years or so, for the same reason people change cell phones all the time I must be offline then, because I purchase a car and keep it until it dies, or for 10 years, which ever comes first. I purchase a TV and definitely keep it un
XP Pro will be going on my current Core2 Duo desktop under construction (final assembly end of September). As with K, I plan to wait and see. The new desktop will more than handle Vista, but $399 for Ultimate (which would be the choice) will have to prove to be quite the upgrade from XP Pro, which I consider a good tool. The new machine will smoke with XP Pro, and I can run it until 2010 with support and Object Desktop, so..... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Coo
I thought it might be good to start a thread for brainstorming ideas on features wanted in ObjectDock to give the developers some idea of what users want. Whether it is possible to implement is another story, but this is brainstorming after all. I would like to see the addition of the following: 1 - Virtual/Dynamic Folder support 2 - Distance adjustment for 'Alignment' on top of the one for 'Position', allowing for adjustments in both the 'X' and 'Y' axis simultaneousl
I thought it might be good to start a thread for brainstorming ideas on features wanted in WindowBlinds to give the developers some idea of what users want. Whether it is possible to implement is another story, but this is brainstorming after all. I would love to see a pop-up dialog under "User Overrides" for working with the fonts to allow control over font size (either in actual points, or by adding percent smaller), and for color, bold, and italics. What would you want?
I wrote a mini tutorial some time ago (when version 1.2 was current), which you can read here WWW Link Note - for a background, you would be placing a folder bearing the name of the background into the "C:\Program Files\Stardock\ObjectDock\Backgrounds" folder. The downloaded background theme folder should contain one or more background images, one or more seperator images, and an "background.ini" file. I hope
Mike, I wrote a mini tutorial here WWW Link which may help you find the files you need. I have done the clean install more times than I care to remember, and would suggest that you simply save the skin/theme folders to either an external disk, or to CD/DVD. This will allow you to do your clean install of the OS, hardware drivers, and programs normally. Once Object Desktop is installed, you can simply
"We should point the finger at the studios and not Microsoft." I have to agree with this commment in the article. The greed of the movie industry is extreme to say the least, and they obviously have placed some measure of pressure on Microsoft. I certainly think Microsoft is creating issues each month with some sort of compromise, resulting in questionable reasons to immediately upgrade to Vista. The security reasons in the 32-bit platform would not - IMHO - be enough
I am not sure, but at least in Switzerland keyloggers, secret cameras and other "spying tools" are not allowed unless the employee is informed of their existence beforehand. Our company uses keylogging and usage tracing, and all users are informed via a "splash" dialog outlining the conditions of use of the companies computer system previous to
The message 'the default axiom application resource environment cannot be found' comes up now. Not sure on that message. Did you try removing all trace of the folder that you placed in ':\Program Files' directory, then run the '.exe' from the folder in My Documents? If so, then you might try contacting DAZ to inquire of the message. I
Okay, I can't edit my comment in #33. The link I left above won't go to the correct forum page due to the need to logon each time at DAZ. You can get there by going to the DAZ site > create your account > go to "Forums menu\Bryce Talk\Registering Free Bryce5 post on top of list". This will provide a direct link to paste the product registration code into to receive the key to unlock Bryce5 free version if needed. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Wink.gif" border=0 ALIGN=
Miraven, Try downloading to "My Documents" and then extract to the same location. After extraction, open the folder if the extraction process does not offer the option to view the files in the folder and verify that you see the "B5Axiom.dll" file there. Close all active tasks in the taskbar except your browser and the extracted folder. Double-click the "Bryce5.exe" file, which should load the Bryce interface with a dialog box containing the product registratio
Our company allows Internet access to those who need to do any business related work. They also have keystroke logging and internet tracking software, so that when annual reviews come around, these are part of the process. If the supervisor giving the review sees someone out at a dating site, or other sites not related to work on company time (not lunch or before shift start), then the pay increase may be affected. IMO - a good policy. One big reason Internet access be
Where does OD save its settings? The address 'Zubaz' gave you is the cache location for ObjectDock Plus.
