In the new version of Objectdock, "always on bottom" will cause the links to activate without bring the bar to the top.

If you check "Use Mouse Activation" in the properties, your dock will pop up when you put your cursor near the edge.

Why feel stupid? I saw someone post a screenshot of my Marcintesh icons, re-colored to blue. That would probably look nice with DogmaX also. The default green might add a nice contrast by I picture it clashes just a little.

That reminds me of the time I wanted to do a gag gift on my sister. Long story short, I needed to weigh down a wrapped up gift certificate with a brick. Well, I don't know if you've ever tried to purchase a single brick but I had to take a little order card up to the front and get laughed at by the clerk. Then I had to drive around to the back to get my brick, where I was laughed at by the loading dude.
