Ozzy...you should look at the other thread.....then I suggest you get together with Boss019 and discuss haemorrhoid creams and laxatives....you need something to improve your demeanor to gain any respect around here. Furthermore, paying for a WC subscription does not entitle one to be arrogant or rude...especially not to the admins and moderators who freely give their time to help run this site. Along with the skinners, they are the backbon
starkers
An important point to remember ('Boss' 'n likeminded)...the admins and moderators, etc, all have gainful employment or businesses to run. Without these necessary activities outside of WC, they'd not have the resources to perform the tasks....hence, no admins....no admins, WC comes to a standstill or ceases to exist. These admirable people juggle many aspects into their lives: family life; home maintenance; employment/business; travel to &fr
Mr Gates, you've amassed huge wealth, how about a realistic price for Longhorn that the lower end of the socio-economic scale can afford
No, Bash, the site don't need a makeover...its current format works and aesthetically don't need fixing. What it needs is genuine support and honest subscribers. I see that a couple of kind ladies have advised how you can subscribe without a credit card....sincerely hope you take the bull by the horns there. Also, your avatar.....hope you, like a sponge,
The moon isn't made of cheese? Bugger...my mother always told me it was, and now my faith in her words has been torn apart. She also told me I'm a lovable fella and i'll be rich one day
Well said, Snidely...your tongue in cheek sums it up perfectly. Sad fact is tho...some expect this and more from our admins...next there'll be calls to have chips inserted in their heads so they're tuned into WC/Stardock permanently and never miss a thing. Unrealistic.....well of course it is, but given the remarks and expectations os a few here..... And Boss, have haemorrhoids...suffer constipation? Certainly seems like it wit
Be warned my friends, if you click this picture you might never been the "same" again. Yeah, in Oz we have a Prime Minister who seems less than human Guess alot feel that way about their pollies tho
Sadly, London has again been the target of bombers seeking to inflict harm and destruction. Fortunately, however, there were no casualties or serious injuries....thank God. It seems that the devices failed to detonate and only the detonator caps exploded. 3 London Underground stations were the targets, and again, a double decker bus. The latest reports say there are no serious damages either. Thankfully, the intented harm thes
Our origins "came whirling from space"....this is why scientists cannot resolve the mystery of the missing link.
Right on, SD....the power of positive thinking....initiates the ability and mechanisms to proceed rather than stagnate. Attracting new subscribers with a premium suite and other goodies might be a way to go, but Ive read all too often that various 'current' subscribers are disenchanted for some reason and will not renew. I for one am more than happy with what WC offers and will continue my subscriptions regardless, but it seems to make sens
Life as we understand it may not be able to exist in a gas cloud....but that don't mean to say ET's can't happily reside on M42. The lawn and lawnchair...well they're 'virtual' cos the need for the material has been transcended to a higher plane. Pitching a tent and outdoor furniture became a problem...... Oh....they still need toilets....nothing virtual about the call of nature <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Laug
What a shame it is....that Jafo and his colleagues give so much to this site, yet some are critical or judgemental, rather than being appreciative of their efforts. Guess there's no pleasing some
NIS 2004 reasons not to install it and still counting NIS 2005 reasons not to get NIS 2006
Yeah, if you can afford to, get OD because it provides many more options and gives full command over your entire desktop. Like you, my first purchase to customize my desktop was Style XP, but I found it troublesome and restrictive, particularly when applying boot screens and my system not liking it. With OD, Bootskin and LogonStudio you have more options and can alter you desktop more safely. Also, the vast skin libraries here co
As for a site make-over....well how about some curtains, a vase of flowers here and there, a painting or two...maybe picket fences to separate differnent areas....... Maybe a bit of rouge and lipstick on some of the emoticons to better represent our female members: <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Laugh.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmi
When my WC subscription comes up for renewal. I'll happily pay the $20 without qualm....despite the few bugs the site is experiencing now. I have the utmost confidence that the people who strive to keep it functional will resolve whatever issues that may arise. Yes, I experience time-outs and etc, but hey, I don't need to be there yesterday...nor does life depend upon the skins or forums here. Whilst the skins, forums and interaction wit
The updated Thememanager seems to perform all of its tasks without issue, but when all these have been completed, I get an error message that says ThemeManager has encountered a problem and needs to close...usually after "saving desktop". This has occurred only since the most recent update. There is no problem in reopening the program or getting it to work properly afterwards, so it's not a major issue, but nice if resolved for performing additional
Yep, Norton (Symantec) really wants to clean up its act.....since upgrading from NIS 2003 to 2004, I've had to format a total of 7 times now because it messes up other proggies and becomes unstable too easily. It has surely caused more problems than it ever prevented or resolved for me...causing conflicts with OD components and System Restore, etc, etc, etc. (see my recent thread in personal computing) My plan was to switch to AVG, but put
They're called UZO's in my neck of the woods....they don'y fly, but zoom past....hence, they remain unidentified, for the very small glimpses we get of them
Quite interesting indeed....with fully programmable keys, maybe I'd not lose my way nearly as much Yep. it would definitely help me with learning new proggies and apps, etc...will keep my eyes open on this one. Thanks, Tarkus, for the post and link
Spybot..Adaware and MSantispy....never had any probs with MS and doesn't slow my system either. Sometimes have run it after Adaware and it picked up missed items also....Spybot will als pick up items after other scans. Also have AntiSpy in Yahoo toolbar. Obviously none are perfect so why not have all if your system can handle them
I use Spybot, Adaware and MS Antispy....plus the free one that comes with the Yahoo toolbar. I've had no problems with MS antispy and it doesn't slow my system either....have run it after Adaware on occasion and it found missed items...also the Yahoo one picks up items even after the others have run. Obviously none of them are perfect, so why not have them all if your system can handle 'em
sorry....strange things are happening...first appeared not to work for some reason..then second shows up as well. Full moon?
Yes, a download button would be more direct...and a brief descripion could be included on the browse page for those who need to know more details....and comments could still be left from the d/l page once the skin has been downloaded and can be viewed in better detail on the desktop.
