just screen saver You screen saver will start over an "active" full screen program? I didn't know they'd do that...

eh? A dyson sphere would not fit into the current gravity well. Not the habitable kind, no. But don't forget the idea originated as a way to utilize all the suns energy... place the satellites in a little (lot) closer and it could still work.
Obviously I should save and restart but I'm just lazy. Bad boy!... but you uncovered a bug, so thats worth something Does your computer have any kind of sleep or hibernate mechanism active?
Thats weird, and definitely worth a closer examination. Too bad the devs have yet to see fit to give us any kind of console tools to experiment with.
People are totally forgeting that you have hangars. Hangars = fighters. Means you dont need flak cannons or any other fancy weapons. Fighters and Bombers can go anywhere in the system meaning its an effective defence against sieges or quick moving frigates that try to bypass the guass cannons. Problem is having enough fighters to match the enemy's swarm. Its a balancing act, and a hard one. Without enough bombers, you don't have anything to engage the
Let me just add one salient point to this people... space is big. Really big. Ships are going to be hard to detect simply because they are so small relative to it. That said, if they're emitting they are going to be much easier to detect...
Eet, since since the curve would be a diminishing returns curve that approaches but never reaches, you would have exactly that same effect... whatever the results for 25 are, would be the maximum for the curve. I don't see where the extra effort would come in since either way you'd have to play with the rate at which you approach the maximum...
I don't think there's a finalized list of hotkeys or buttons, ATM, as I believe they're still changing them. As to your other comment, all I know of is the ability to assign ships to fleets, but I agree it would be highly useful. Both to find the ships outside of assigned fleets (above and beyond any assigned systemic pickets in system), and possibly use the same system to allow you to pick specific ships inside a fleet (for example, if I wanted to detach a couple of light friga
It would be nice to give orders to them to follow your capital ships or certain ships and not go flying around like you said. Yeah, I think I mis-understood the original post a little since flak frigates are the only case I can really think of where I want that.
Um, a few things... ATM, there is no purpose to a patrol order, as you see anything in a grav well where you have any kind of presence whatsoever. Now, about your fighters just sitting idle after killing a ship, that is strange. Generally, they return either to their ship, or wherever the last point you told them to be at before they auto-acquired.
(Be nice to the newbie, please forgive any mistakes/things that I didn't notice.) Be glad you said that 1)Planets/Asteroids with Odd logistic slots Its part of the upgrade process -- you can upgrade logistics and tactical, so that the number of slots increases. The final logistics slots (with the maximum numbe
Supreme Commander managed to do the whole "super weapon" thing perfectly. Oh yeah, I'm in perfect agreement with that Personally, I think that game ending/fleet devastating/total economic collapse-grade super weapons are a very bad idea Eh, Supreme Commander did it extremely well, in that the super weapons were
When you have a large (30+) mixed fleet with with capital ships and frigates it descends into micromanagement haze. The tactical AI should be doing the micro for ya Generally, I just jump my ships into the grav well and they take it from there most effectively. I need to micro a few things -- like making sure the siege frigates don't jump in until after</i
Heck, ships do move in 3d -- they aren't colliding, they're flying over / under (I thought he was asking for ramming or something)
Dunov and Akkan battlecruisers don't fill this role already? Between shield restore and the later achieved Armistice on the Akkan, I can't imagine an unbreakable stalemate. Simply move your almighty army of doom in and armistice when you get in trouble. You can avoid static defenses entirely, and move massive fleets into a single planet while the enemy defenders are neutralized. Kill the colony, key structures, key units, whatever.
I have yet to have any kind of hard crash in the game where you have to reset your computer. Good grief, I should hope not! Windows has come a long way since 95 / 2000, where those types of errors where so common as to lead to such monikers as "blue screen of death!!!!" and my families favorite the "windows wheel of mis-fortune" (where bankruptcy = working computer <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/BigSmile.gif" border=0
Just a few things.... First off, the terminology is slightly different than your used to. Cruisers aren't so much bigger and badder than frigates, as they're meant to be support units (according to the devs). Which, obviously, isn't true ATM, if only because the Kodiak is the most powerful (non-capship) unit in the game. As you noted, the balance between Capitol and support vessels also needs addressing, and the devs know this. However, I strongly disagree that a capitol only appr
Is this possible? IIRC, they're going with the GalCiv model, which is to say you can install it on as many computers as you want to.
You guys should probably try playing Supreme Commander a little In Supreme Commander you essentially had three "types" of end-game super-weapons to break ties. First off was the nuke launcher, which fired nukes (that had a horrible build time and cost) which could be shot down if you had an anti-nuke close enough to its target. Second was the T4 "super robot" which could wipe out a
sprinkly nuke mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm !!!!!BANG!!!!! I'm quite sure that a nuke would be more of a boom, not a bang... All deep and kabloey! yes but homar can stomach anything Fine then, I'll fit a point-singularity generator into the donought. Happy? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/BigSmile.gif" bord
This has already been brought up (though why anyone would not want a scroll wheel, I can't live without mine) and the devs are looking into it.
