Nice A couple of suggestions though... 1) The windows logo is obviously not made for that position. What you might want to do is make the background of the logo transparent, that should do the trick. 2) The message section needs to be a color darker than white. I can barely make out the "To begin, click your user name".

I know, I've been getting them for about a week and a half now every couple hours. Unfortunately, most firewalls specifically do not block this from of messaging. I know there's supposed to be a way to block it from the control panel of windows, does anyone know how to do this?

Unfortunately, I already submitted the 3 color variations as three different wallpapers a couple days ago. I really wish there was a faster turn around on these things. I guess at the moment I'll just hope that whoever judges it accepts the fire version and rejects the other two version. At some later date I suppose I would update it with the two other version in the zip file. At any rate, thank you for your comments. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/smile.g

BoXXI, you mentioned that admins can't tell the difference between new skins and updated skins. To me, this is a glaring problem that needs fixing. If the updates are in a separate que the moderator could basically rubberstamp it since an earlier version had already been approved. This would allow updated skins to go up much faster than the 1-3 day current wait. This would possibly also lighten the admin workload. While this system has a small potential for abuse, I doubt it would o

Well, as for why I started with the original image at all... Quite simply, I was bored. I hadn't intended to make a wallpaper, I was just fooling around with some filters and realized that it looked pretty cool so I made it a wallpaper after all. If people seem to like this style wallpaper I might just start out with the random color areas like you suggested.

Jafo, would you take a look at the four wallpapers I linked to above and tell me whether or not you can dicern any similarity of the latter three to the first one? Basically evaluate them as if you were deciding whether or not to accept them as wallpapers and put your thinking and your judgement in this thread. I'm basically using this thread as a learning opportunity.

While I've asked for input on skins/wallpapers I don't think that actual advertising is a good idea (at least as root thread topics). I have nothing against someone promoting their work inside a thread as a logical part of that thread. For example, if someone asks where they can find halloween skins I have no problems with promoting any halloween skins you have done. And btw, nice wallpaper <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/smile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle

I like the lizard logo, that would be a nice logo to put on the shirt. I'm holding firm on the "university" part of the cap logo though. As much as I love this place, it's just a nice site with a good community. I've tried designing logos myself and unfortunately, they just don't work out. *shrug* So while I can yell from the sidelines, I can't contribute actual art in this respect.

Lets say you started with a wallpaper by someone else and then applied so many filters to it that nooone can tell that the two wallpapers are related, even looking at them side by side, would you still have to give credits for the wallpaper you started from way back when? I'm asking because there is not a single piece of the new wallpaper that can be traced back to the original wallpaper. Look at http://jobeleca.bravepages.com/graphics/Infected_Orange_T1.jpg , http://jobeleca.b
