...to have someone at the Wincustomize site figure out a way to have the search string preserved accross the "please wait (insert arbitrary number here) before searching again" pop up. Is there a formula for figuring out what the "gerbel is running as fast as possible" time will be? ;p :( Thanks!

Should have known it would be you that took the time to help me out. You have done it before when I was Clyde Park (had to change monikers to get a profile). Thank you so much. I see what you are suggesting and I see that it will be tricky with Molten/Dragon. I will post here if I am successful so that other side lovers can benefit. I have seen you mentor around here for a LOOONNNG time. You are an asset to the community.....but then you knew that! ;)

I am beginning to think I have approached the wrong forum (which wouldn't surprise me as I am old and easily confused). Is there another category that might have more knowledge about Start Menus? No insult intended. I haven't put in a trouble ticket because I think it could easily be a Vista thing. I responded to Seabass's kind post, that I was talking about the START Menu and the TASKBAR behavior. I don't know where Objectdock comes in but I looked at the 'Start Menu' docklet

Thanks Seabass but I am talking about the Start menu that appears when you click the Start button on the Taskbar. If you load Dragon and put your taskbar on the right, the dragon's wings are off the screen at the top when you click the Start button. I don't know any Docklet that will display the Start menu in it's graphic form.

For those of us who like having our taskbars at the side...is there any way to get the Start menu to display lower on the screen? It appears to be locked relative to the Start button. I have 'Molten' (which I use all the time because it works REALLY well at higher resolutions......other skinners might take note) BUT, my buddy Draggy's, wings are off the screen at the top. HELP>>>>PLEASE!

I tried searching for a thread on this but had my usual success using 'search'. Spag is not friends with SEARCH! How are a few WB Vista ready authors getting the User Picture to NOT show? Can anyone point me to the specific SkS parameter line, please? TIA and happy Mom's day all!

Phoon, thanks for the shot but I don't have a "Program Data" subdirectory and the "Add New Toolbar" says "Path does not exist". Was I clear? I am using Vista Home Premium. I'm not cracking wise. I want to make sure my OS is clearly stated. I am feeling very stupid this weekend, I can't even figure out how to get Right Click to start. I can't find it anywhere now that I have downloaded it from SD Central. ;p

This looks like it would be VERY, VERY useful!!! I keep getting access "denied when" when I try to access the Start Menu folder. I am an administrator (this is my home computer). I have activate the Administrator account on my computer and thought maybe I could use that but it doesn't show me the Start Menu folder for my user account. I turned off UAC as well. Same result. I can't get to the New Toolbar process by activation of the "Run as administrator" check line (at least I can

I periodically criticize Stardock in the area of documentation but I have to say that Frogboy is 'right on' in saying that a lot of the problems they are having in getting stuff out the door in a stable state is, the "transition THROUGH stupidity" that Microsoft has handed developers. I believe that the first steps out of the chute with Vista were so wrong that recovering put them in such a bad market situation that they finally had to dump it out the door and just hunker for the flack.

[HR] Sorry Stardock but I gotta say..."Folks, hold on to your $20 for a while." I didn't and ran smack in to a old familiar pattern. Program didn't work so good, no Documentation, (to speak of) that I could see, "help" links broken or nothing on the page. I run Vista but have had no problem with CursorXP. Jason Carver says "says run as adminstrator" if you want to change cursors. THAT would have been really nice to know about right up front, since I think that is what

Thank you to MySecret, Bichur, and Milksama!!! It was the cache. Don't know why OD Free didn't care but once I uninstalled AND cleared the cache, then reinstalled, BINGO! Still lost my custom files but, Oh Well. 1.9 is VERY cool! Thanks again, THIS is definitely community to me!
