Actually that's an excellent idea of having the artist involved be withheld until winners are announced. Although the public at large doesn't have a hand in voting the winners directly, at least the judges can't possibly have a bias towards an artist. It would also allow Stardock employees to enter in as well. Still I guess would have difficulty if they were voting in a category they have an entry in, but they would just be exempt from judging t

Recently I keep getting "No web page found at addess" when going to www.joeuser.com However its odd that I just tried it again while typing this and I get the page about GalCivII hogging up server space. I thought that was over and done with. However I guess its having a resurgency or something. I don't come here all that often, but its frustrating continually getting that I can't get here. I know the reasons for it, doesn't make it any less

That's great to hear of the success of GalCiv2. Its not a game for me, but good to see Stardock shows that they aren't just in the OS Customization business. It does make me wonder sometimes though if Stardock ever attempted to sell ODNT at retail or even simply WIndowblinds, how well it would do. I believe they would sell well, but I'm sure Stardock has not considered this for various reasons. Anyhow don't work yourself silly. It can

People always have to be sounding alarms over nothing. If they still support 98, even if limited, they will be fully supporting XP for awhile. Especially where the majority of new Vista users will probably be new computer users rather than upgrades. So there will exist quite a few XP users out there for some time. <img src="http://images3.stardock.com/wc/icons/wc.gif" border=0 alt="Posted via Win

I'm not sure what you mean by not capturing the screenshot correctly. I do things the same as you. I hit Print Screen and paste into Irfanview for screenshots. I can see through what I am supposed to see through in the screenshot.

I tried the ALT+Tab replacement. And while different and pretty nicely done, its too jarring. It turns the screen dark and you only see the previews of the tasks. I think one thing that might help is either an icon of the program superimposed over the center of the screenshot, or the icon of the program with the title. It really made it difficult to see which window was which when they look similar. Also one odd part is when Winamp

I think it might be useful to have a sidebar be able to be used as a quick explorer view to find files or folders while still keeping your main window visible. Or as a place to store quick links so you don't have to wade through a discombobulated start menu. I agree though a sidebar needs something useful instead of pretty gadgets. They are nice for awhile, but aren't necessary. Even my cool looking mp3 player I keep mostly hidden since I'm doi

You said the interface is highly configurable? How so? Aside from the ability decide which of the "menu" items on the tab bar to show, and a couple minor things like the go button, it seems less configurable. Also I couldn't find anywhere how to make a "thumbnail" view of tabs that are open. I think though overall it is an improvement long overdue, though I like firefox too much to switch back.

I really get sick of Winamp though in its updates. Why do we have to download the whole thing each time we update it? I'm on dailup and so it is more troublesome having to get the whole thing each time. Sigh.

Since DesktopX seems like a lost child at times, perhaps a category for it, especially gadgets might help as well provide for some interesting entries. I think WB is a given. It generates the most response and is highly popular. After that I think IconPackager or ObjectDock.

Perhaps it is different with two users set as admin. I have never done that and it isn't recommended I'm sure. Heck it isn't recommended to run under admin all the time, but I just don't like having to switch back and forth when installing programs. So you might be experiencing something I just won't in my setup. Might be something to look at for Stardock I guess. <img src="http://images.stardoc

It seems like a relatively minor procedure. Especially for those using SDC. Nearly everyone has internet access and for a product that is pretty much delivered over the internet I don't see it being an issue. Stardock has a right to do what they feel is necessary to product their programs from misuse. It would seem they feel there are many who use the enhanced versions without paying or they wouldn't have to go to this procedure.

Well the first RC it worked under just fine. I haven't updated to the "a" RC release. It would be a serious flaw if it didn't work right in the main release. As for 4now, not sure why you are having trouble with IconPackager as that is working fine in other accounts here as well. I am not using the most recent released beta though but 3.09[b].004 <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/ico

I agree with Frogboy that ratings are needed. I have never had a problem with them, though I do not skin either. I don't believe there are enough malicious people on WC to be able to grossly affect the overall score a skin receives in the ratings. If you start out at an 8 and drop down to a 6, well obviously the first people who rated it liked it a lot more than those afterwards. Averages tend to work that way. Not everyone is going to like your s

I have often dabbled in trying to use DX only to find myself dropping it again. The themes are usually well done but just not useful for me. In some cases I probably could change things to fit my needs, but I don't know where to begin doing that. Things are not modular in nature or easily changed for those who don't know scripting, etc. Its just still not user friendly, though made strides with DX3. I also think Stardock has dropped the bal

WB in XP has always supported multiple user accounts. I have used them for quite some time. The other accounts can have their own skin and settings. I am using the beta of WB5 and it still supports this.

You might want to include more information than you have. All we know is you use Windows. What version of windows, and what if any Stardock programs you are using might help as well, and version of the programs. Also emailing [email protected] works very well also.

To turn it off you have to use a version of the skin that doesn't use it, if provided. As far as I have noticed, the transparency is a special section, so its there if you are using the skin and there is no switch to turn it off. It sounds to me for how its implemented it won't be possible to include a switch, but I could be wrong. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/icons/wc.gif" border=0 alt="Po

OD is Object Desktop. Betas are only available to subscribers of this. Goto www.stardock.com for more information. Plus even if someone wanted to send you the beta they really couldn't. You can't install it without SDC and an OD account. Rest assured once the bugs are out and it is released officially it will be available to all.
