I really like the Alt+tab alternative. Hopefully it will work fast enough on my pc, which is fairly up to date though the graphics card is middling. And of course WB5 is really a knockout.

First off, characterizing Win95 as the most stable OS ever is quite an overstatement. It was a definite improvement over 3.1 but it wasn't until XP that I felt MS finally got things mostly right. I wouldn't ever use StyleXP since it goes against MS in its implementation and doesn't do as much as WB. It doesn't have surround capability. The "Surround Edition" name is a play on the version number. 5.1 is a the typical setup for surround sound in a home and 5.1 happens to be the version number. It may be possible with plug-ins to provide surround sound, but Winamp itself doesn't include it.

I didn't feel they were mainstream enough, especially Kryponite (which incidentily shows an update as of March 2004. The other one is way old, 11/2003. Check what kind of file you are downloading. If the extension is .wba then you shouldn't be having any difficulties. If it doesn't open automatically after downloading, I usually use the Windowblinds config screen to manually "Install skin from disk" . If the file you are downloading ends in .zip , then usually you just unzip into WB folder as is. I'm not understanding why you are needing to open a folder because you don't download folder
