I think a DX type contest is needed. Not only could we get some nicely made objects (or themes if that is the contest variant), but we might see some inspiring ideas. I have wanted to use DX for quite some time, but never find anything that fits my needs. Either too big, too gaudy or not enough. I'm just not good at manipulating DX to fit my needs. So I think if anything there should be a unique category in a DX contest. Winner is someone who

Darn net. Site decided to go slow while I posted and doubled it oops...
Actually I was reading a book and it mentioned that a Sifa-Dyus (not sure of spelling) was the Jedi who first got the clones started, before Dooku (Darth Tyrannus) took over. Much mystery still in that area I think. As for Palpatine's permanent change, I had wondered that myself. Since he appeared in that guise as Darth Sidius. He was so scared of dying at the hands of Windu, truly desperate for his life. I heard they wanted to hav
I assumed it was Palpatine who really ordered their creation as he was able to give them new orders without any problem. The Jedi being told that a Jedi had commissioned the clones would never think that the clones could turn against them. However they must have had some internal programming that with the right code Palpatine unlocked. At least it seemed to me that is what happened. <img src="http://
I wanted a Star Wars themed WB as well. I ended up finding one at least somewhat in the right vein at deviantart, if only marginally so. I just converted the visual style using SkinStudio. The style is called Kamino. There are also a few older WB's circa 2002 for Star Wars. Simply doing a search for stars wars on WC will find them. I don't see why someone can't create one. There are several skins available that are technically licensed mat
People do work in Star Trek's future just different work than now. It is difficult to really speculate on what other jobs exactly as they were rarely portrayed. It appeared though that there were still transportation networks, schools, military and scientists to name a few that I can think of right now. Picard is shown working in his vineyard in his later years. Is that a hobby or work? I just think jobs other than those on a starship were real
Somewhere along the way, some kids and adults just haven't learned how to deal with situations. If had simply paused a moment and explained what was going on and asked if he could talk a bit longer or something, perhaps he would have been able to. Even if he wasn't allowed, he could have informed his mother that he couldn't talk right now. I know its difficult to reach loved ones due to the time difference, but I agree that rules aren't made to have
I have wondered myself where all the new objects, widgets and themes have been. Usually after a new release, certainly of the magnitude of DX3, would have a flood of new material. Perhaps like me, many people still haven't found a reason to use DX on a daily basis.
I agree it is a tad bit of a pain. However most people probably do not have a mouse with more than the usual 3 (middle scroll) that they have now. I suppose a control+click or something along that might be possible, but that still uses the keyboard. Another option that might work for you is if there were a way to add it to the titlebar of each app. So you could simply click an icon there to access it. <a href="../resources.aspx?
I think its a nice design, but at least for me its not needed. I rarely open the programs themselves. If I needed to access them daily I could see the need. I also agree that its bad that its so large even under higher resolutions and/or not collapsible in some manner.
Always use Windowblinds, its a must. I can't stand using a computer without it. I change wallpaper from time to time, but its not terribly important to me since its rarely fully visible. Use Icon Packager make a more complete changeover than WB gives. ALso use CursorXP. Winamp is my main audio player, have used it since I discovered it many years ago, and it launched my love of skinning. Also use Right Click and Enhanced Dialog all the time.
lol I agree on the "my" thing. Sounded rather stupid since who elses would they be. If they were someone else's they would be labeled as such or in a different folder. Interesting some of the changes coming out so far for Longhorn. ALthough to be sure some things aren't finalized, nor are they definitely parts of the OS yet. I saw a screenshot of a scrollable Start Menu, with a bar to type in the shortcut you are looking for, and it would
Its great that they are finally admitting that it needs improvement and working on it. If Firefox never came along, probably would have been stuck with the current IE til Longhorn. Even with the additions they are still behind. I personally haven't heard of any reasons for me to return to IE. I'll probably update it though since I do use it from time to time for those pesky sites that don't code properly. <a href="../resources.aspx?
I think it would have stood a better chance of success with a better name for sure. However it was ahead of its time. Trying to do something that just wasn't feasible with computers of its day. Something like that might at least stand a better chance of success now. Many are getting into computers who didn't before, but are still afraid of the interface. It would give them an easier transition I think. Of course this is where DesktopX comes
I agree its a bit extreme to attack a program that has worked flawlessly for many and even for yourself in the past, that is not working properly now. Evidentily there is something on your PC that trillian doesn't cooperate with. As for the person said they would approve if you died, this poster should be banned from WC. No matter how badly someone complains about something, death is not something you wish on someone. <a href
I agree with Jafo on his points although I would add a little. I would suggest that authors in general make it clear if there may be issues with certain apps or if its made with a particular user base in mind. Most do do this I believe, and I am not familiar with the skin in question, but I think some flames or tude could be averted with that kind of information. <img src="http://images3.stardock.com/
Only 8 million? Should be more than that! Though I'm sure if you add downloads from Stardock its more. I rarely use download.com myself unless an app links directly there for download. Still an excellent milestone.
For misnofiend - Logon changing via Logonstudio and Bootskins via the Bootskin program. Links to each are on their respective pages of downloads (skins). Its odd how many people seem to miss those links at the top of the page. As for WB changing, I can relate to BlueDev at least a little. I have gone through periods of time where I change weekly if not daily. However currently I have been using the same WB for a month or so. Usually I change b
Hmm. I thought he mentioned he was using it now and it was going to be out soon. Either way the changes mentioned have started to appear in SDC, mainly the discussions setup - which incidentily I think wastes an awful lot of space. I now have a column for each section of SDC and when in discussion have another column for its sections, but on my resolution, much of it is blank space. Waste. Anyway hopefully for those who use only the WC Browser
It doesn't make sense that other images show but not Skins. There must be something blocking them. An extension? Spyware? Firewall? Did this happen just suddenly? Also could try uninstalling and reinstalling FF.
I don't really change or add avatars, backgrounds and the like that often. Of course partly that is due to the fact that they are not readily available. However partly it is because I don't care to mess with it. But that's me. I'm sure there are plenty who do like to mess with it and I don't see how having a sectino here would hurt WC at all. The few times I have looked for Trillian skins it has ended up fruitless. Putting a section here doesn't
Well I agree that Firefox was given a fair chance to stay on the front page. I was disappointed that it hadn't had any new skins for awhile. So far though I haven't seen a need or want to change skins very often with FF. And I tried a couple that were posted here and they gave me problems. Regardless it would be nice to see Trillian given a shot. I don't change its skin hardly at all, but that is mainly for two reasons. One is I find it diffic
The trolls are at it again over at Betanews. I can't believe people still write and complain about the memory usage when it has not been an issue at all in my eyes since version 3 and XP.
For once Sony is thinking ahead of the game. For so long they practically ignored the mp3 format and tried to force their own format down our throats. Maybe with new management Sony is more open in their ideas.
You fools who thought this was real lol. Anyhow I didn't believe it since Mac has a dock, but also the report contradicts itself. It says Stardock expects to have it bundled with OSX, then at the end says there is some talk of bundling it with the next generation Mac OS. The first sentence sounded like it was a done deal, then the last one makes it seem only a possibility <img src="http://images3.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Tongue.gif" border=0 ALIGN="
