Each champion has their own skill tree as well as each sovereign.
That part I like and want to see kept. My issue is that the way it's implemented now seems less "fun" than LH for some reason. I suspect it's a combo of a lack of epic loot and not enough passives that help to buff a character up. I also think if you do an LH

It seems kinda dull and boring right now. What I would want: something along the lines of LH class trees, with some unique stuff for each hero.
I like maps with a lot of things to find. Variety is most important to me.
Things I want to see, some of which is probably impractical/ would be a lot of design/balance work. For faction differentiation: Promotions would be interesting, esp if they had to be unlocked through tech tree Maybe different factions could use resources differently, or get benefits at different rates. One faction might not be able to be mounted, but they can use wargs/horses as food 2 new factions (12 is a better number than 10) O
How about Second Elemental: Ceresa's Dream? I have an idea for how this would work- would be a combo of LH and what I'm imaginging CK would end up as. At some point I wonder if asymmetry can be combined with standard 4X where it's like 7 minor human factions (5 from LH+ Krax+ new one) vs super-powerful Ceresa with the other fallen races as treacherous minors.
The best way to do that is to put out content for LH while you're doing this if that's possible. I know you had more DLC planned.
You're not supposed to save all the shards. I suspect random maps will help when they're ready though. I really don't enjoy playing on pre-made maps, though it's understandable for the early beta.
Quoting Frogboy, reply 9 It is a little disappointing seeing people so aggressively expect games to cost nothing. Sorcerer King is the result of nearly two years of work by a fairly large time. The idea that it's "DLC" or something shouldn't surprise m
This change should probably be backported to LH as well Could it be changed to the last unit in a stack doesn't take all the damage? Damage should first go to the tankiest unit, at least from melee units. Ranged units should take damage from ranged/magic.
I have to agree on wanting more passives.
It's amazing seeing how similar the trolls are on both sides.
Steam Forums in general are the new GameFAQs discussion boards.
Stardock has another big announcement tomorrow, so this week was unlikely.
You should add opposition to misogyny to this. Don't let the trolls hijack things, they're good at this. The reason those game journos believe this, is because that is also happening. I think it's necessary to disown those folks as part of the message given how they're being used as a hammer against the legitimate complaints. Ultimately though, the journos are the low-hanging fruit- if gamers really want to
This is the point where I planned to consider the game in beta.
Kohan is the one game I most want Stardock to make a spiritual successor to. Brad was a fan of the series. Best idea- Kohan-styled RTS in the Elemental universe. I could see that working super-exceptionally well. If I ever got to see Brad, I'd probably spend 2-3 days creating a notebook with notes on how to make that happen. I could list reasons why I think Stardock would be perfect to pull it off- but the weakness of K
I have to agree. I'm not sure what Steam is doing is good for the little guy. The curators do nothing for me, though I suspect they'd do something for folks who don't have a lot of time to look at stuff. I suspect I'm going to miss out on a couple of games I'd normally buy due to this.
97 for Civilization 5? Maybe out of 500. [e digicons][/e]
Civ 5 is great for non-serious play. It only fails with folks who have played a ton of the games. For most on Steam Civ 5 was their first 4X.
I think the issue might be people might not know that their version of XP isn't 64-bit
My verdict on this so far is pretty positive. I've got a feeling over the next year I'll be splitting time between AOW3 and LH games based on whatever's newest. Both good and different. I just wish Triumph would a game engine that works as well as Stardock's - you can see the inferiority of the engine.
I still think Elemental lore/series would make a better RTS than TBS, but an RPG would work also.
I don't like how some folks here lumping in the folks who are pointing out the legit problems and just want to make things better with the SJW types who are out for blood. There are anti-SJW ideologues out there as well, and they've reared their ugly heads plenty during the past two weeks as well. They might not get noticed as much because there are more of them, but they're just as odious.
If the LH universe continues, I'd really want it to be a sequel, for two reasons 1) 64-bit support. You can see how the Elemental games were held back by 32 bit. I wish SD had made the engine 64-bit only. 2) I really kinda wish the next game would be "Bacco's Dream"- so kinda "LH-A Different Story" (Madoka fans might get what I mean by that) My dream concept is something Alpha Centauri ish with 7 defined
What did Brad get out of posting this? Sure I guess he thinks he's refuting his critics but to me it seems he's hurting his company's image for no good reason. I did not know about his views before, but now that I have read about them, I think rather less of him. This isn't going to help his lawsuit either.
Stardock exists because Brad enjoys doing it. He doesn't have
As for Diplomacy- I like my AI to have a personality, but I also like surprises and sneakiness. As for turns- the most important thing isn't the number of turns, but that the mop-up phase is short. As what for makes a game good- a) I like my games to have a sense of exploration and randomness- but I expect less of that in a GalCiv game. LH does the explore part very well, as did FFH. b) I like my opposition in these games
