I can't grok the Christain thing but a definition of stress is when you put too much emphasis on something. ie you stressed one thing over another. If you accept that the pressure that the stress is putting on you (god, my engineering background is feeling uneasy with that comment) is because you're putting too much emphasis on it then maybe it's time to focus on something else. Trust me, doing someting else won't make your problem go away, but if it l

Amen to that! You can usually spot a troll because they instantly accuse you of being a troll if you disagree with them. It's pathetic. I hate reading comments to my posts because I know somebody is going to go out of their way to misinterpret me deliberately. Unfortunately it's always been like this for the 15 years or so I've been on Newsgroups or forums.

Egg came first. From the egg came something that had evolved into a chicken. If the question was "which came first, the chicken or the chicken egg?" it would be a different matter.

Don't blame your boyfriend too much based on this alone. There's a marked difference between men and women. Women are more likely to dwell on what MIGHT be and COULD have happened. Men are more interested in what IS. If it DIDN'T happen then why worry about it? - would be his opinion.

I really am sorry about this BlueDev - you've been a total gentleman. I'll lay off here for a while if this is what I can expect. I maintain I've nothing against the article, just the vagueness. Hey, it would be a boring world if we all wanted the same thing, huh?

This really isn't the place to exercise a grudge against me. I'll go to my BLOG and post a special article for you to comment on. Go gather your jack-booted friends.

I appreciate the civil welcome and while I'm not trolling, I'm not going to pretend I'm sweetness and light. I lack empathy so I can come across as blunt at times. Please take this in the most generous of terms BUT, if you're going to post an article which has to be posted because you feel there is something which needs to be addressed but you don't specify what you're actually commenting on THEN you're basically pulling the same trick the telephone fo

If I wasn't trolling, and I certainly wasn't trolling - how was she sticking up for you? She was just attacking me because I didn't agree with her mindset. You may have touched on that in your article... If it was just a head piece, and didn't specifically refer to any event, then fair enough. NOBODY is going to say they support mob rule. Particularly the mob leader(s). However there's a pretty strong biological need in people to b

Okay, so I'm guilty of reading too much into it. Hell, I even checked CNN to see if there was a story that I'd missed in the UK. If this is "just" about the various debates on JU then I'm kinda disappointed. I am antagonizing. SO... if you don't know BlueDev's thoughts why do you think it's an excellent article? If it was an excellent article, you'd know his thoughts. AND I think it's a fine article but it's just a little too coy for me. If yo

In fact, I'll tell you how I read this article, if it'll help. And I read back through his blog to get a grip on him and when I hit the one about his daughter's tooth I thought I had the measure of him. Maybe not. I see this as an observation on the American public and their hatred of muslims. Now read the article from that point of view. See anything to disagree with that opinion? That's why I'm confused.

Is this an America vs Islam article? Or, is this a Republican vs Democrat article? Or, is someone just bullying you? Were you watching Springer? I'm lost at sea here...

I was checking out the new users and have to say, while I don't necessarily understand what you're doing here, it's the best new blog of the bunch in my opinion.

Hey, the 80s called - they want their decade back... But seriously. You could have written that in just about any decade from the 50s on. Don't worry you're very very normal.

Surely blasting Bush for not visiting the troops is more right wing than liberal? What's your definition of liberal thinking?

I don't altogether trust this real life thing people keep bangin on about. Sure I'm willing to fool around with it while I'm in the beta but I'll wait for the full release before I start playing seriously.

There was a hope it'd be a GalCiv 2 beta but I think that was optimistic (to put it mildly). The new-game-a-month until the end of the year mentioned when we signed up has lapsed somewhat and I must admit while personally I'm not that put out I'm surprised there aren't more people making a noise about it. I wonder just how many Totalgaming subscribers there are?

http://www.cosmosui.org/ WOW uses an XML compliant interface. Now I don't exactly know what that means except it allows them to skin the interface while also being able to make use of some logic statements. So with Cosmosui there are, eg, extra button rows (invaluable), timers on buffs, health and mana/rage/energy displayed in numbers, more detailed quest information, health bars that change colour as they go down, etc. I downloaded and inst

When I found out the AI knew where the yellow stars are I pretty much stopped playing GalCiv. It just encourages generating a map, playing a few turns so you can find out where the yellow stars are and then reloading your game from the start so you can act just like the AI does, and from the forums I read that appears to be how the game is played. That's after spending a couple of minutes generating a good map in the first place. It's like those rubber

I quit SWG a couple of months after starting (having already become jaded on MMORPGs) when I realised I was having more fun writing my macros than I was actually playing the game. But like the man said, good story.

1. Offer Mob Master as a special unsupported bonus for subscribing to Total Gaming.Net 2. ??? 3. Profit. I've played games, mainly MUDs that frowned on controlling 2 characters, but I've never seen a MMORPG yet that objected to extra subscription revenue. Incidently, are you using Cosmos UI? ...currently lvl 30 in the European beta, with about 2 months of testing to go before we get to pay.

It "should" be good for US businesses to help with the trade deficit making our products cheaper overseas. Nice theory, until you look at China, whose exchange rate is tied to the dollar - so even if it becomes cheaper to buy US exports it's still as cheap to buy Chinese imports. You want to play that game for any length of time and the guys with the controlled economy (uh, the Chinese) are going to win. Pre Bush you had a 5 tr
