Zoo: Very much so. All the women in my family are, LOL. You should see my grandparents' house. They have a garage, a storage building, and a house full of stuff. When I was very little, they had a trailer house they lived in on some land they bought. Later, they had the farm house moved from another town and placed on this land. They left the trailer house behind it, in the back yard. It's full of stuff from the 60s and 70s. Seriously.</

The base here is building a new maternity center and they are pushing EVERYONE through the system, not allowing referrals for off-post, despite the overcrowding, to pay for the new center. I did try to be seen off-post initially since they approved an off-post family doc and pediatrician, but no such luck on obstetrics. I agree that it makes more sense for private citizens to be responsible for their own generosity. Less waste, and more personal involvement. Sometimes it's more of what you can do than what you can spend that helps. Great story! Wow, lucky that ended the way it did, LOL! Last year the MPs put on a demonstration for Cub Scouts showing the dogs and what all they can do. It was really fascinating for all the boys. It has been crazy hot/humid here. Or maybe I'm a wuss and just not used to it yet. It just seems so uncomfortable. Our electricty bill jumped from 120 or so to nearly 300. I signed up for average billing which will help. The electric co rep I talked to said I picked a good time, since August is usually the biggest bill of the year. I really don't think we waste electricity but me and the kids are home all day most days, so I guess that doesn't help. <p
