There is a way, as certain corporate skins have been distributed with a lite version of Windowblinds packaged with it. But it wass for big projects, and Stardock programers were involved in packaging it.

Well, one Gig is really nice. But if you can't affort it, definately consider 512 Megs as I said. I have 512 on my laptop and I'm not having any problems whatsoever. Of course, the more the better, but I say that 512 is the minimum for an enjoyable experience with XP.
JNXT is a level 4 subscriber. I don't know why you are experiencing a slowdown, JNXT. Everything is speedy here.
What is slowed down exactly? You said it takes time to load Windows? Meaning booting is longer? Or even once it's booted it's still slow? BTW: I know you don't want to hear it, but 256 Megs of RAM is the bare minimum to run XP. A big chunk of it is used by the OS itself, which leaves you only the remaining crumbs to actually get things done. You hard disk must be swapping like crazy. An advice: upgrade to 512 and you won't believe the speed difference you'l
Apparently fixed, you're level 4 now.
There is oviously a problem. It will be looked into.
Nah, this place sucks. I hate it.
Hum, something must be wrong.  I see you as level 1 right now. But obvously you're not level one as these are casual not-logged-in visitors...
PCC: you SS was rejected for the reasons cited above. You need to place a window, or an opened program, something, partially obscuring the wallpaper. The idea is that somebody couldn't just save the image and restore the wallpaper with just 5 minutes work in Photoshop.  Hide half his face or his body. If you just want to spread the humour, then just give a link to where you got it from. If people want the wall, they an download it from its original source.
JTB: I was halfway through your post and I was thinking: I'll put 100$ on the table that his sister has Kazaa installed!   Geeh, I hate being right sometimes. Remove Kazaa with KazaaBeGone and her PC will be 1000% better. If she absolutely wants to use Kazaa, dig around and you'll find KLite Resurection. Or something like that. I spent a few hours on a friends' computer fixing what his teen
It means the folders left panel is skinned.
Well, if you want a link to create your name in Graffiti, this is a much better one: http://www.graffiticreator.net/
Before you an hope to get your user level raised based on your future skins, you got to expect to spend at least 500 to 1000 hours of hard work making those skins. On the other hand a subscription is only 20$.  How much an hour is your time worth?   Maybe you should listen to WOM.
We may not have to wait till Longhorn, it seems Avalon will be available as an add-on to XP. Can't wait.  This should bring us the GUI quality and smoothness of OSX.
Hum, I think it may be a wording problem. I think the option should say "open any links in a new IE window".  Because the WC Browser uses IE as a back end, I'm not sure you can send a link from IE to be opened in another browser...
If you check it, it will keep all your installed programs zipped up and backed up on your puter. Personnally, I don't bother. I have high speed so when I need to reinstall (following a reformat or new machine aquisition) I just redownload everything I need.
All right then, have WB configured that when loading a skin that uses alpha blending it displays a warning message "Notice: this skin uses transparency features that may impact on system performance, especially on older cideo adapers". About Web Explorer: Great for tabs! But please have a popup blocker too in it, don't rely on the fact that SP2 already has that feature, as a lot of us don't have SP2 and nor do they want it... Or, will Web Explorer support 3rd party IE toolbars, such as Googl
OK, after some checking, I found that it depends on the skin. Some skins are fine, while some do as your screenshot. Now I'm stumped, no clue why. There doesn't appear to be a way to exclude a display property window from WB. With this skin, it's fine. <IMG alt="" hspace=0 src="ht
Yes, I get that too. But it's not really Windowblinds' fault that NVidia uses non-standard Windows controls and windows. Don't know if putting that window in the exclusion list would work... Lemme try...
Oh! I get it! PcCustomizer = csurfside ... Phew, you got me real confused there for a bit.
Thornz, I hear you. When something like you describe happens to me, I start closing down everything unnecessary, including Windowblinds, to which I leave the icon in the system tray for that very purpose (being able to disable it quickly).  So, IMO, it wouldn't change much if I was using an antialiased borders skin. I would just disable WB the odd times my computer starts coughing and hacking... The reason, I'm really in favor of implementing it into WB and not just as a better WinF/WB i
Yes, DX does that, but Flash doesn't. That's why DX animations are so cool.
You can also configure it in the Group Policy Editor: Type GPEDIT.MSC in the RUN dialog. Go to User Configuration / Administrative Templates / Windows Components / Windows Explorer / Common Open File Dialog Double-click "Items displayed in Places Bar" and there you go.
