How about getting a job as an assistant sys admin...

John, Not much for the average user really. If you are setting up a stand alone machine save your money and install home. If you are on a network and want to be able to remotely update through your server etc. spend the money for pro and save yourself some time.
Puzzling, Control Panel icons can't usually be changed. I'm not too familiar with ME but if restarting windows doesn't work... I would try that go back feature that was promoted with ME. I think you can reload system settings from a point back when you knew things were working properly. You could also try downloading Icon Packager and loading a theme. Sorry couldn't be more help.
Are you using Icon Packager, what version of windows?
John, With that list of skins I think you rule out the skins themselves. That is a pretty broad selection. You mention the "x", are you talking about open IE windows on your desktop or the actual desktop itself?
It looks good now... Seems the center tables now resize to fit the window. Very nice indeed! This is a definite improvement
Seems Craig proudly prints his copyrights on his page, just doesn't respect those of others...
I have used skins from the Win XP section on my 98SE computer. I believe they "optimized for XP" as they say in the section header, even if they spelled it incorrectly.... Where's Jafo
Seems to me there are two main issues here: 1) The growing discontent with Stardock from those outside the WC community. 2) Paying for code vs. free for fun code. Skins, apps, elves shooting wrapping paper, whatever... I think Brad had it half right in assessing time as a factor. Take it step further though. Not only do I have less free time but I aslo have quite a bit more disposable income than when I was in my teens. Twenty dollars used to be a weeks allowance, now
I have Elves Inc.
I can't get past level 5, that damn snowman is driving me crazy....
Silverado, I've had similar problems. Have you upgraded Object Bar to 0.75 yet. If not I would recommend it. Check MSCONFIG to see if you are loading 1A: Stardock Traymonitor. I believe you need this loading at startup for OB to work correctly. I had disabled it and I started having problems as you mentioned. Checking it made things work correctly again. The real name for it is trayserver.exe and I found it in Program files / Common files / Stardock. I would also delet
Here's what I just don't understand about these so-called "Free Beer" types, and I really do hope someone can explain it to me. Computers are expensive, anywhere between 1 and 3 thousand dollars. Then you start adding things like printers, scanners, UPS, modems, things not easily stolen, and you are talking quite a bit of money. Then add a connection at 20 - 60 dollars per month for most people and again not easily stolen. So why is 20 for WB, 20 for a CD, 12 for a T-shirt, 50 for OD, or 10 for
Definitely worth the wait and 10 bucks. It's obvious a lot of work went into this and it shows . I noticed there are some smart looking icons in the WindowBlinds screenshot, any chance they will be released...
It's an outstanding collection of work, and well worth the money. I bought it and I am downloading now, problem is I'm probably still going to be downloading it by sunrise... The download is inching along at about 800 bytes per second. It took less than a minute to process the order and receive the email key. Free is one thing but when you pay for something you expect a little speedier delivery...
I really need to learn to type faster as well
If you are talking about Icons forget about the .wba files, they are skins for WindowBlinds. The .ip files are what you want. To use them you need Icon Packager: https://www.stardock.com/products/iconpackager/ Or you could use a Zip program to unzip the .ip file and manually change most of your icons. That's a pretty time consuming task though...
Osama Bin Laden, in cuffs, in a NYC jail awaiting trial.... and DXNG
Mr Einstein - Worked like a charm, thank you so much, I really appreciate it. GreenReaper - For some people this might be a nice option. For me I have downloaded .wba files organized into specific folders and load skins from wbconfig. I usually only keep about 20 skins unpacked in WB at any given time. Downloading this way puts the .wba file into the local IE cache which gets deleted on regular basis. So if you delete the skin out of WB the only way to get it back is to download it aga
While we're on the subject... Any idea if this is ever going to be fixed. It showing a date of mid September. I really liked this, seemed like a more accurate than just counting downloads. http://services.stardock.com/wb/stats.asp
Although I agree that the faster the majority of users move to a NT based kernel the better, I don't think it will happen so quickly. I think your users might contain a great deal higher percentage of early adopters than the normal population. Personally I would love to be on XP right now but I'm going to wait 6 months after release to ensure everything functions properly. Every three days huh, I think I average three times a day on 98SE.... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/smi
Jafo - These are common misconceptions about old Saint Nicholas or Father Christmas. The first clue is that it was written by an engineer. Engineers are usually unable to view things outside of a narrow view of common perception. (No flames please, Frogboy) If it was wriiten by a Physical Cosmologist or a Theoretical Physicist you might look at it a little differently. First, Santa does not actaully live at the North Pole. The North Pole is but a gateway to the parallel world of Noel. The world
Skewing the average up a bit at 31...
Right Click and "Save As", sometimes the simple things just don't even occur to you when you are used to doing soemthing a certain way! Thanks Paxx....
Anybody else have this problem? When I download a .wba file it downloads straightaway into my local IE cache folder without prompting. However if it is in .zip, and other extensions, it brings up the download box and allows me to choose the folder to place file into. I don't think I have changed any system settings and this only started happening in the last few days. Any ideas...?
