Meh. They haven't made a good game for years now. And while i am no fan of EA they have been, by all accounts pretty hands of regarding SimCity. I dont think EA is 'The Evil' ... in this special case at least.

Good question. Would like to know too. My guess is yes, but making sure cant be bad. :)
I sympathize with the OP. ... The system is not very intuitive. The output of the planet should reflect what you build on the planet. More research improvements, more research output. More economic improvements, more economic output. More manufacturing improvements, more manufacturing output. It should be simple. (And it should have no need for this topic). [e digic
Nice concept and i am very much pleased to read it features co-op. [e digicons]:D[/e] Also it is Stardock and only $20. I am in for the ride. [e digicons][/e]
Yeah, come my next payday i am in.
While surely impressive on the technical side i guess it will be a major hurdle to get the pacing and the UI right for such a massive game. On the bright side, it is a Stardock game is pushing some bounderies ... so yeah ... with my next paycheck i am in ... [e digicons]^_^[/e]
Well to be certain stardock has defined tactics. Planets can be defined by type, class, random events, resources, and what's built on the planet. How much population. Assuming advanced espionage. What can be built in starport. Your right you need numbers. Factors on a planet can be devided into military, social production, research, and economics. There are numbers on each on
The one Thing that i would agree was bland, was unit design. The world, the cut scenes and even the briefing is very high production value i thought. And sure hope there will be DLC, because the game ended in a damn cliffhanger. [e digicons][/e]
... It would compare the new tactics against its own. ...
That is the problem as i understand. How does someone, or an AI does compare without giving values to the points to be decided? The wrong assignment is where all decisions, human or artificial fail. Also values change fluently and the only saving grace humans have are experiance (could be simulated ... maybe, i doubt that) and
YES! More RTS is sorely needed these days! The genre is resting right now as Grey Goo isn't good enough so there's only StarCraft II that's a big title right now. I'm hoping for Servo to be smallscale (Dawn of War) where skill matters (using abilities and being fast). Something like Supreme Commander is not interesting to me.
I thought Grey Goo was very good,
Wow. That is really good. In fact i think it is the best art i have seen from Stardock, yet. Grats!
That is just awesome and such things are why i preorder your stuff sight unseen. [e digicons]:digichet:[/e]
While you're technically right, if they were using Nitrous tech, you'd expect them to announce it given that the announcement mentions Tachyon, which is arguably less fundamental and exciting to announce (though they could be saving it for later). Anyway, I'm just trying to goad them into commenting on it [e digicons]:)[/e]
You have a point there. And it would really be great if they would use Nitrous.
... It's interesting that they're not using the Oxide / Nitrous tech, though. I thought it was made to advance games such as RTSes?
I guess we dont know if they are using Nitrous, the announcement isnt saying what they are using at all or what this game is about. The matchmaking will be

OK. I give up. If people think 64bit reprogramming, a new economy and a new battle system, a new engine an a new tactical layout (square to hex) is expansion style content, i have nothing more to contribute. The gap of perception is just to wide.
