I am a newbie (almost a year in June). I started out with the trial version of windowblinds and loved it so much I got the full deal. The rest is history - got instantly hooked on this stuff. Thought to myself, "what good is having a full blown package if you don't know everything about it." Then began my pursuit of knowledge. Printed out every tutorial I could get my hands on. Yes, and I looked at other people's skins to see what made them tick (most of the time not realizing the fullness

Well, between installing XP and trying to get this skin done and family matters, been pretty tied up. Hubby has really gotten involved in all this too. It's gotten to where he gets me up and says, "You are wasting valuable skinning time." When I started doing this he remarked "why are you wasting your time?" Go figure. I'm sure he will be interested in the fdisk method. I think he is just about to throw ME away. Only thing is I would really like to keep it just to be able to bring

Hi Feline, keep your mind on the papers - no tickling needed here. Been a while since I have talked with you. Yes, finally got XP. On the other computer we have ME on the C drive and XP on the D drive. Had to take the other computer in to be fixed because ME totally locked up and we couldn't even get to it to format the drive. Anyway, the person that worked on it set it up that way. However, we have to switch the drives and we are not able to select from a bootup which drive to logon to.

Thanks once again. The way I have done my logon, the buttons and arrows don't show at all. It just zips right on into Windows. Still don't know why it says Logon Studio has encountered a problem. When I apply a different logon, it is okay. I then apply my logon again and it is okay. But it seems when I replace the logon picture (with the same bitmap number) and try the apply and restart, I get the error again. Seems rather strange to me. I want to upload the logon I made, but am nervous

When applying the clear type feature, it turns the font color of CClock on the blind to a magenta (transparent color). This looks really weird. Is there a solution to the CClock magenta color in order to use both cleartype and CClock?

When I apply my logon and it goes into windows, I get a message that Logon Studio has encountered a problem. I don't know why I am getting this message. Also, have a question regarding the bitmaps for the arrows and icons. If you replace them with different icons and arrows, are they suppose to change anything in XP? If they don't change anything in XP why are they in Logon Studio? I don't see where they do anything on the logon screen.

Just remembered, I have one more question dealing with the toolbar in Webblinds. Everytime I start Explorer I have to go to tools, apply in order for my toolbar to show up in Explorer. It comes up when I first load Explorer, but then goes back to showing the dialog bitmap. What do I do to stop the dialog bitmap from showing up and not have to keep going to tools, apply?

When I bring up the properties box in XP it isn't skinned like it was in ME. Is this something that is not skinned now or is there a setting somewhere that will skin it? Also, tested my new XP skin on hubby's ME and sometimes when the close button is pressed it causes an error and have to re-boot. Doesn't do it all the time, it is about 50/50. Don't know why it is doing it on his ME. It works fine on my XP (and worked fine on my ME before I upgraded to XP) and the coding is the same

Do you have the shareware version? If so, you will only be able to use the skins that come with that version. If not, just double clicking on the wba file will install the skin and then you can go to properties, skins, and select your skin and apply. Or you can install it from the windowblinds icon on the taskbar if you have it loaded. Right click, go to skins, install from disk, then select your skin and apply. May have to restart your computer to get it to take effect.

Thanks feline, but thats not much help. I didn't want to format the drives. I don't have the capacity to back up the drives. I was hoping that you had a miracle answer. Darn.

ME is an upgrade and I don't have which is on the machine now. It has fowled up. I want to upgrade to xp but I don't want to by the full version because I have 2 computers. But I also want to have 2 Os's so I don't have to update all my equipment. Thats why I would like to install 98 on the D drive and then get the Xp upgrade to overlay ME on the C drive. That way it would cost a lot less.

If I can not load 98 on the D drive and keep ME on the C drive, can I overlay ME with 98 or will I have to deinstall ME first and then load 98 on the C drive.

I like Jafo have the font problem in the menus in PSP and on the component cube. When I go back to 3.15 of Windowblinds everything is fine. However, when installing the lastest betas the problem re-occurs. So far, I've just lived with it. If anyone finds a solution, other than going back to 3.15, please let me know.

After you log on, there are seven catagories above the featured skin. One says upload. Thats the one you use to upload your skin. I hope that answers your question.
