Nice.

I have tried that Activation option on the EADM, and it never seems to do anything. *shrug* I have no idea what its about.
Sure, look at Valve
Yeah, I hear Europeans bitch about Valve all the time. I try not to listen. Sadly, I don't know how to not listen.
Indeed. Europeans are second rate customers. I guess we're used to it. They'll probably sell it to us for €50 in half a year or so...
Here's some helpful hints on how YOU can fix that! Make it so there's only one company responsible for distribution for every country in Europe. Make it so there's only one ratings group for every country in Europe. Set Stardock up with an office and staff
Well, some of the EA titles that went up on Steam later got Securom removed, so there is theoretically a chance.
Since EA is brining Securom they should just leave
So those millions of us who buy EA games and Stardock should suffer because you don't like them? Uh huh. I'm going to be scratching my head at that logic for a while. Go tell that to a retail store chain, watch them laugh in your face.
I'm just glad 99% of the universe has killed off Starforce. Whether or not Securom is acceptable usually depends on personal ideology. Whether or not Starforce is acceptable depends on how often you had games refuse to work because of it. (Tages is only slightly better than Starforce, but at least it's better. Still worse than Securom though.)
Just checked Red Alert 3. It has Securom. So there's two forms of protection!!??!! TWO forms of DRM. Securom and Impulse. Count me out. At least Impulse by itself is tolerable. Adding to it is not!!
So you just said two forms of DRM and only listed one. How does that work? Impulse isn't loaded to play the game, and it doesn't load anything when you play the game, so it i
It is. Every single one of the games has SecuROM (and Sims 3 doesn't have it on the retail disc, although there is a disc check). No indication what will be used (if anything) on Dragon Age. I just don't understand what EA is thinking. Impulse should be protection enough.
That the retail edition only has a disc check is irrelevant, since the digital version has Securom no matter where you buy it. I hope to see
If it's trying to update every time it launches, your install is busted. This is not normal behavior. Only time I recall seeing that happening is if I had a phase 1 client installed.
Yes, that's always been true with D2D. They are the weakest link [e digicons]>_>[/e] Hmm, I said that. Well, at least I've never watched the show.
I have plenty of empathy. I have no sympathy though, so I'm not about to stop occasionally calling things gay. I respect LGBT(?) peoples, but I really don't care what they think of how I talk.
D2D still has the annoying DRM on Ubisoft games. Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory may actually work fine from Steam from what I heard, but on x64 the D2D and normal versions don't work at all. I hope D2D puts out a solid client. I definately expressed my wishes towards that in their feedback survey.
It does? That explains why I bought a DVR. I used to stop for Scion ads, but the new ones are gay.
I am offended. ...just not by anything in this thread [e digicons]:D[/e]
I like Champions! What don't you like about it?
Whether it survived or not, it was still the better game. Blizzard gets huge fanbases for games that to me just seem halfassed. I obviously don't understand that, but hell, I don't have to.
4. Can I include a whole genre? The "Diablo 2 Killer". They are legion. They are... fail. Not one of them got even close. A whole genre of disappointments. How can any single game top that?
IMO Nox killed Diablo 2. And it was released BEFORE Diablo 2. So maybe we should be looking for a Nox killer instead.
We'll see what happens. It might get sorted out eventually, it might not. Personally, I have no vested interest either way.
Err, double post. Whee I love when the servers overloaded :)
I don't think the problem is that it's complicated, what would be easier, no country check, or a country check? I think some of those publishers really want to keep the game price higher in Europe in the 35$ = 35 euro way... Well, it's their loss, if I can only buy a game I want for an inflated price, I'll look for another game...
Then you haven't been listening to devs. If it wasn't complicated, the problem
I finally played the demo last week. I was very impressed. I won't say it'll be the best game ever, lord knows we've had some bombs of Batman games...but it seemed pretty damn cool. (And I still haven't watched the last Batman movie, heh.)
^ Sins and GalCiv are most certainly not for everyone. There is no shame in disliking either.
It isn't that I dislike GC2, I just thought they overcomplicated it in too many ways. GC1 was easy to get into, it may not have had as much depth but I liked it.
Most games are NA only. This is so sad, I could buy Dawn of Discovery and Sacred 2 but no luck.
You European dudes would probably have far better luck if you had your own awesome download service, this stuff is more complicated than it looks.
If I post anything, can I get some anti-mob protection? No? Arright, well anyway: 1: Sins I'm sure it's a fascinating game, but I've barely played it more than an hour. It just isn't my type of thing. 2: Galactic Civilizations 2 I liked the first one better. I thought having to figure out what plot to build your stuff on on the planet just made things tedious, and the research tree is just too wierd
